Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness took Stephen Strange and America Chavez to Earth-838, a world called home by a mysterious group known as The Illuminati.
The team was comprised of Captain Marvel (Lashana Lynch), Captain Carter (Hayley Atwell), Master Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor), Professor X (Sir Patrick Stewart), Mister Fantastic (John Krasinski), and Black Bolt (Anson Mount). Most of them met a violent end courtesy of the Scarlet Witch, though we're obviously hoping to see more of their Variants down the line.
We'll be able to take a closer look at The Illuminati when the Doctor Strange sequel hits Disney+ on Wednesday, but more merchandise featuring the group has now been revealed. Many fans will no doubt be pleased to see Mister Fantastic included here, especially as Marvel Studios has yet to reveal any official shots of the Fantastic Four leader or Charles Xavier.
The fact that The Illuminati is hidden in shadow here is interesting as it definitely gives them something of a sinister feel. Professor X and Reed Richards certainly felt like they were true heroes, with the latter, in particular, perhaps the most remorseful about what they did to their reality's Doctor Strange.
As of right now, there's no word on who will take the helm of the Fantastic Four reboot following Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts' recent departure. We also don't know if Krasinski will reprise the role of Reed in the MCU, though the hope is that he will return and his appearance in Sam Raimi's blockbuster was more than simple fan service.
