Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is shaping up to be just as eventful and surprising as Spider-Man: No Way Home (maybe even more so), and while Marvel Studios has maintained its usual level of secrecy when it comes to certain character appearances, a few leaks have slipped through the cracks.
The recent trailer strongly hinted that Sir Patrick Stewart's Professor Xavier will feature (the actor later confirmed it), but who else will the Master of the Mystic Arts have to answer to for his Multiverse meddling?
Possible spoilers follow.
The latest issue of Empire Magazine seemingly confirms that Strange will stand before The Illuminati. In the comics, this powerful group is made up of Xavier, Strange, Black Bolt, Reed Richards, Namor the Sub-Mariner, and Iron Man. Rumors have indicated that this big-screen version will consist of Professor X, Captain Carter (Hayley Atwell), Balder the Brave, Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), and Baron Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor), but that remains to be seen.
This won't exactly be a major revelation for anyone who's been keeping up with the various leaks and rumors relating to Sam Raimi's sequel, but this is the first time we've had anything close to official confirmation that The Illuminati will appear.
