Marvel Studios Rumored To Have Offered Daniel Craig Another MCU Role After Balder The Brave Didn't Pan Out

Daniel Craig came close to playing Balder the Brave in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but it didn't work out. However, it sounds like Marvel Studios isn't done with the former James Bond...

Daniel Craig's time as James Bond reached its end with 2021's No Time to Die, and while the Knives Out series looks set to be an exciting new franchise for the British actor, could a superhero movie role be beckoning?

Well, as we're sure you're aware, Marvel Studios planned for the former 007 to play a member of The Illuminati, Balder the Brave, in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Unfortunately, scheduling issues led to that cameo being scrapped.

However, we don't think that's a bad thing considering what a waste of the actor being impaled on Balder's sword by the Scarlet Witch would have been!

Recently asked about his MCU near-miss, Craig played coy, leaving fans to wonder whether something else might be in the works for the actor.

Trusted insider @MyTimeToShineH is claiming that Marvel Studios has offered him another, undisclosed role. Needless to say, we're sure speculation will immediately begin running rampant about who this could be, with fans currently throwing out names like The Sentry, Magneto, and even Ghost Rider!

We wouldn't be against the idea of any of those, and as Marvel Studios looks to expand its recently acquired X-Men and Fantastic Four franchises, the possibilities are near-endless. Heck, shave his head, and Craig might not be a bad Professor X either.

The Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery star is relatively picky when it comes to acting gigs, so we're sure he won't say "yes" to anything that's come his way. Christian Bale shocked everyone when he signed up to play Gorr the God Butcher in Thor: Love and Thunder, only to be largely wasted, so seeing that might give his fellow Brit pause for thought.

Who do you think Craig could play in the MCU?

Considering what Balder's role was meant to be, I'm guessing feige just really wants to murder Daniel Craig.

Also, spell check changed "Balder" to "Banderas". So clearly God is certain that when marvel finally brings balder into the mcu, he'll be played by Antonio Banderas.

Daniel Craig is Doctor Doom.

An older Doom would be okay. We don't need an origin story on him. Just make him one mean crazy maniac.

Well if they just want to give him a role for the sake of having him I’d hope he doesn’t get anything too big.

@micvalpro - as long as Feige gets to kill him off after one scene, I think that should be a possibility

I can see Magneto but Sentry and Ghost Rider? No.

I could also see Daniel playing a older Gambit, Brian Falsworth, or Mad Jim Jaspers.

Put Daniel in the Black Widow universe so he can act with his wife Rachel. Something that should've happened in the Bond series.

@MosquitoFarmer - Most of these British actors floor me with how well they get Southern American accents. It's sometimes awkwardly good.

@CapA - No, because that’s the desired format of the website (as per the formatting guidelines), and a very common one, at that. This site also isn’t a blog, so “I this” and “I that” really wouldn't work.

@JoshWilding - "It is", "That is" could work... It's bizarre to include the reader into what is your view/ the "what is believed to be general" view. Thanks for replying anyway.

I could definitely see him as either Magneto or Professor X, but I personally like the idea of Jason Isaacs and Ralph Fiennes for those roles, respectively. It would definitely be fun to see Craig show up somewhere in the MCU, though.
