Fans of pineapples under the sea have had a lot to look forward to lately, with the lore and universe of Bikini Bottom getting fleshed out with spin-off projects. The SBU, or SpongeBob Universe as the team behind the show jokes, is only getting larger as time progresses.

In addition to the recent spin-off focused on the world's favorite clumsy starfish, The Patrick Star Show, from last year, fans now have a new addition to feed their SpongeBob Squarepants cravings, and it's about the characters in the series - as children.

Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years retains the same sensibilities as the main show, along with the same writers and storyboard designers. Take a look at the artwork for the DVD release below.

Since the characters in focus are Squidward, Sandy, Patrick, and SpongeBob, we spoke exclusively with the latter two. Both Tom Kenny (Adventure Time, Rocko's Modern Life) and Bill Fagerbakke (Young Justice, How I Met Your Mother) expressed their incredible excitement for (Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years) in our interview below.

Spoiler alert: both actors speak in character at various points in our chat. Check out the interview for yourself below, and be sure to let us know what you think of our discussion as well as the 13 episode series (Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years) in the comments section as usual!

If you've ever wondered how tuned up the antics could get if Spongebob Squarepants has a child twist to it you're in luck and Kamp Koral: Spongebob's Under Years is perfect for you.

To support the new project the voice actors who provide voice performances for Spongebob Squarepants and Patrick Star, Tom Kenny and Bill Fagerbakke spent some time chatting with me for a bit.

They spoke a lot of the reasons they enjoy Kamp Koral: Spongebob's Under Years, the other adventures they would like to see the young versions of their characters, and the two explain why the dialogue is more important than the pitch of the voice when it comes to expressing age.

SpongeBob actor Tom Kenny himself expressed that they jokingly refer to the series of shows as the SBU or the SpongeBob Universe, inspired by the MCU. He also explains how much he loves his job and that every day is different because there are Kamp Koral as well as the Patrick Star show both happening in addition to the main series.

It's an incredibly fun chat with two charismatic and intensely fun individuals (three if you count me) and it was legendary to speak with both of them. You guys are going to really love this one so grab the popcorn and kick those legs up, you're headed to Bikini Bottom!

Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years is now available on DVD for $15.99.

Those first three seasons and the movie are classics. Same with the Battle for Bikini Bottom game. As long as they’re doing spin-offs for the franchise, I, for one, would love a Batman ‘66 parody centering around Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy (with a hint of Venture Bros. thrown in for good measure), or a more adult-oriented Bojack Horseman style Squidward series.
