AMERICAN GODS Czernobog Promo; Plus Gillian Anderson Channels Judy Garland As Media In A New Official Still

Bryan Fuller's small-screen take on Neil Gaiman's American Gods is set to premiere at the end of the month, and the first round of reviews have been very positive. As promotion now kicks into full gear, we have the latest character promo along with our first proper look at X-Files icon Gillian Anderson as Media.

In the book, Media is a New God who is presented as an antagonist, but seems to wish to resolve the conflict with the Old Gods with as little bloodshed as possible. As the deity of all things media, she can choose to appear in pretty much whatever form she wishes, but it seems she'll be mostly channeling (no pun intended) Judy Garland for the series.

The promo, meanwhile, focuses on the "God of Evil", Czernobog, who will be played by Peter Stormare.

American Gods also stars Emily Browning as Laura Moon, Corbin Bernsen as Vulcan, Kristin Chenoweth as Easter, Pablo Schreiber as Mad Sweeney, Crispin Glover as Mr. World, Orlando Jones as Mr. Nancy, Dane Cook as Robbie, Jonathan Tucker as Low-Key Lyesmith, Yetide Badaki as Bilquis and Bruce Langley as the Technical Boy.

Man, those things with no faces are creepy. Plus that whole shot is pretty weird. Brian Fuller bringing his season 3 Hannibal weirdness to this is great.
