Cameras started rolling on Paramount Pictures' Dungeons and Dragons reboot earlier this month, and now that filming has moved from Alnwick Castle in the U.K. to Carrickfergus Castle in Ireland, we have our first look at one of the movie's stars on set.

Michelle Rodriguez (Fast 9, Lost, Avatar) was spotted riding a scooter close to the set. The actress was wearing a robe to cover her costume, but we can still make out a few details, and it looks like her character is going to be decked out in a Viking/Barbarian-type outfit.

Check out the photos at the link below.

Dungeons and Dragons will also star Chris Pine (Wonder Woman 1984), Justice Smith (Detective Pikachu, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom), Rege-Jean Page (Bridgerton), Sophia Lillis (IT), and Hugh Grant (Paddington 2) as the villain.

Game Night directors Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley are set to helm the project, and wrote the latest version of the script based on a previous draft by Michael Gilio. Plot details are still under wraps.

Derek Kolstad (John Wick; The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) has also been hired to write and develop a separate live-action Dungeons & Dragons television series, but again, details are few and far between.

Dungeons and Dragons arrives in theaters March 3, 2023.

Should have based it on the excellent animated series of the 80s.

@marvel72 - And since that series never got an ending, it would be a nice way to give it some closure too.

Surprised she really never got her own franchise. Could have big one fo the big female bad asses of the 2000’s like Mila Jovavich and kate beckensale

@dracula - unless I've been seriously sleeping on Michelle Rodriguez talent, she's pretty 1 dimensional. She has 2 modes, gruff bad ass or raspy voiced sultry she learned later in the Fast franchise.... thats it. She has very little charisma or charm aside from what she can do in her very specific lane.

Unless their is some vehicle perfect for her I can't imagine at this time, I really couldn't see her being the lead in anything successful.

@ElricReturns - dont see how she is any different than the two I listed, they all seem to have the same range

@dracula - I've seen both Mila and Kate in a wide variety of roles. Rom coms, psychological thrillers, chick flick, action film, art house... I've seen them in wildly different tones, settings, and playing vastly different characters.

I've only ever seen Michelle Rodriguez play Michelle Rodriguez, a tough but sexy character who's the hot Tom boy. That's it.

@dracula - like Mila or Kate gets cast as a scientist, they transform their voice, posture, the whole delivery. They act.

Michelle Rodriguez gets cast as a scientist, she just puts on a lab coat and reads whatever lines they give her as Michelle Rodriguez.

That's the difference.

@ElricReturns - Milas character in Blue Lagoon is nothing like Leelu from Fifth Element who is nothing like Joan of Arc in Messenger who is nothing like her pot head character in Dazed and Confused who is nothing like Alice from the Resident Evil franchise who is nothing like her psychologist character in The 4th Kind. She knows how to act. Become a different character.

Kate's resume of character acting is even more impressive than Milas.

Michelle Rodriguez as Leti in the Fast Saga is the same as her pilot character in Avatar is the same as her character in SWAT is the same as her character in Resident Evil is the same as her character in Machete is the same as her character in Battle For Los Angeles is the same as her character in Blue Crush..... she's the same character with the same vocal delivery, same tomboy posture, same tough chick attitude with a soulful side. Same character.

All im saying is the other 2 get cast because they can play a range of characters. Michelle Rodriguez is never cast for her range.

@dracula - I think Vin has about the same lack of range as her but I can respect him for taking on serious roles in his character at a point. He tried to branch out.

Wonder if Joe Manganiello is disappointed he's not involved because he loves this shit.

Maybe he's still trying to convince anyone that will listen to do a live action Dragonlance.

I'm rooting for this movie because the first one came out too early and couldn't use LOTR as reference for how to tell a great fantasy modern film and now that we've had plenty of great fantasy movies and tv shows I think this will be the best Dungeons & Dragon film yet which admittedly is not saying much but I have alot of faith in it.

I hope this doesn't suck. It would be nice to have a good new high fantasy movie.

I'm kinda hoping for this to be a mix between that Voltron episode where the play the knock-off D&D, with the kids playing to be a Goonies style group of friends.

I don't care when the reveal comes, but in my opinion there should be one where it's shown that it's kids playing fun adventures. Otherwise if its just the campaign, it has to work hard to set itself apart from other fantasy stories.
