Paramount and eOne's big-budget Dungeons and Dragons adaptation has secured an exciting new cast addition, as THR reports that highly in-demand Bridgerton breakout Rege-Jean Page has closed a deal to star in the fantasy adaptation.
No details on his character are available, but it is said to be a "leading role."
We recently learned that Michelle Rodriguez (Avatar, Fast 9) and Justice Smith (Detective Pikachu, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) are also on board in supporting roles. Wonder Woman 1984's Chris Pine is set to play the lead.
Game Night directors Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley are set to helm the project, and also wrote the latest version of the script based on a previous draft by Michael Gilio.
Derek Kolstad (John Wick; The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) has also been hired to write and develop a live-action Dungeons & Dragons television series, but again, details are few and far between.
A rumor recently did the rounds which claimed that Marvel Studios has shown interest in Page to replace the late Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther in Ryan Coogler's planned sequel, and while there may have been some truth to that, there's no mention of it in the trade's report.
At any rate, the fact that he's signed on for Dungeons and Dragons has most likely taken him out of the running.
