To begin with,
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1" has been nominated in
eight categories for this year's Baftas (essentially the British version of the Oscars): Makeup and Hair, Special Visual Effects, Sound, Editing, Costume Design, Production Design, Cinematography, and Original Music.
It will battle it out against such CBMs as Iron Man 2, Kick-Ass, and Tron: Legacy for a place in the final five of each category.
Secondly, it's been confirmed that work will soon begin on the Deathly Hallows
Part 2 soundtrack. In a podcast with
The Guardian, Alexandre Desplat (who also scored for Part 1) revealed he would be returning to production very soon, commenting that it was very difficult work but well worth it.
In addition, director David Yates has given a description of how he sees the last movie, in contrast to the penultimate: "The very last one's a big old epic, with lots of battles and dragons and goblins. It's going to be operatic. And then it's over."
When asked if he was feeling at all nostalgic, Yates responded: "I do not think we ever took it for-granted. Sometimes we'd joke about what we're going to the when it's all over. We'll never have this amount of resources again . We're going to Hhve to go back into the real world, after living in this bubble."
Finally, the renowned magazine Forbes has constructed a list of
Top 10 Couples in Contempary Cinema, and taking 1st place on said list were Hermione and Ron!
Interestingly, the list also included many other CBM couples: Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox, Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman, and even Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 hits theaters July 2011!
