HARRY POTTER TV Series Behind-The-Scenes Special Coming To HBO; Trailer Includes More Big Reveals

HBO has confirmed that Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is getting a behind-the-scenes special on HBO Max this Sunday, and this trailer reveals more of the rebooted Wizarding World.

The first trailer for Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone featured plenty of big talking points for Wizarding World fans, and we now have another new look at the upcoming HBO series (via SFFGazette.com).

Finding Harry: The Craft Behind the Magic premieres on HBO Max on April 5 and promises an "exclusive look inside the HBO Series, from the artists bringing it to life." It's surprisingly early for a special like this to be released, but the goal is clearly to build excitement for this small-screen adaptation of J.K. Rowling's novels.

Not a single actor involved with Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone has been able to dodge questions about the controversial author, and HBO is clearly eager not to allow any negative social media chatter to overshadow its pricey reimagining.

This sneak peek alone is full of exciting reveals for fans, including fresh shots of several lead characters and our first look at Ravenclaw and Slytherin's new crests. We also see more of Diagon Alley, Hogwarts, and Professor Snape's Potions classroom.

The first season of Harry Potter arrives on HBO this Christmas, but yearly releases for each new book adaptation aren't planned. HBO boss Casey Bloys recently confirmed that, while the goal is to get the series out as quickly as possible, "It’s not going to be an annual; the show is too big and too massive. But, they’re writing season two now."

"Our goal is to not have a huge gap, you know, especially because the kids are growing," he added, hopefully easing the minds of anyone concerned that there will be a two or three-year wait between seasons (this at least sounds closer to the former).

Back to this documentary, though, and it suggests we can expect HBO to continue hyping up Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone from now right up to its launch over the holidays. The movies remain beloved, so it's on the cable network to sell any sceptics on this reboot.

Check out the first trailer and poster for Finding Harry: The Craft Behind the Magic below.

There is nothing special about Harry Potter - at least that's what his Aunt Petunia always says. On his 11th birthday, a letter of admittance to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry opens up a hidden world for Harry: one of fun, friendship and magic. But with this new adventure comes great risk as Harry is forced to face a dangerous enemy from his past.

The main cast of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone includes Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, and Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy.

Additional cast includes Daniel Rigby as Vernon Dursley, Bel Powley as Petunia Dursley, Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch, Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell, Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley, Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, Gracie Cochrane as Ginny Weasley, Leigh Gill as Griphook, and Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander.

The series, based on J.K. Rowling’s beloved books, is written and executive-produced by Francesca Gardiner. Mark Mylod will executive produce and direct multiple episodes of the series for HBO in association with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television. The series is executive produced by J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Brontë Film and TV, and David Heyman of Heyday Films.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone premieres on HBO Max this Christmas.

It's not the fault of the utterly fabulous Ms. Rowling that the closest you two Frank-N-Furters ever get to a biological woman is of the transgendered variety. 🫤

I for one am excited for the new generation to have their own Harry Potter and Marvel Cinematic Universe to start and grow with the way we did. After Secret Wars the MCU will reset itself and new stories and heroes will be born for the new generation of fan. We were lucky to grow up in the era of Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, and Marvel Studios. It's time for a new version for new and young fans.

Glad to hear it, waiting 2-3 years between seasons would be ridiculous.

Sweet , looking forward to checking this out!!.

It does seem a bit odd to release something like this before the show comes out but from the looks of this , they will seemingly be delving into how the artists such as production design & such are bringing the stories to life so it’s moreso an extended featurette then anything else I feel.

Hopefully we get one that delves more into the casting & adaptation process once the show comes out which I’m excited for , especially since it releases on my birthday!!.

Why is this coming out 8 months before? I would've expected it towards Thanksgiving or early December. Oh well, this is going to be Strangers Things x10. So much merch... theme park tie-in as well. The HP printer is back online lol.

Also [frick] Rowling. She didn't make the movies or this show. I don't have to like her. She isn't in charge of anything except to shitpost

@TheFinestSmack - In a recent post, I remarked that it was JK herself that revealed Dumbledore's true sexuality as a gay man. JK actually has supported numerous liberal causes throughout the years. She was a celebrated and glorified champion of the Gay Community and it's supporters until she committed the unforgivable sin of voicing her belief in biological-reality. The rest is simply grand-standing and virtue-signaling among the toxic and venomous rabble. 🤨

@bobevanz - No, but she gets a ton of money when this succeeds and then she uses that money to fund hate groups and campaigns to take away the rights of innocent people. Anything that puts a dime in her pocket, is off limits for me.
