HARRY POTTER's Emma Watson Will Play 'Belle' In Disney's Live-Action BEAUTY & THE BEAST
The Harry Potter actress was once in line to star in Guillermo del Toro's Beauty & The Beast, but when that fell through she jumped ship to Disney, and has officially been cast as the beauty, Belle.
Emma Watson is best known for playing Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movies, and now it's been revealed that she'll try her hand (and voice) at another classic literary character in Disney's live-action adaptation of Beauty And The Beast. After Warner Bros. version with Guillermo del Toro fell through, Disney began to court Watson and evidently it all worked out as it's been officially announced that she'll star in the film under director Bill Condon (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn). This will be the latest in a series of Disney's live-action takes on some of their classic animated adaptations, after Maleficent, the upcoming Cinderella and Jon Favreau's The Jungle Book. I don't think anyone could argue that this isn't a perfect bit of casting, but let us know what you think in the usual place.
