We are just 2 weeks now from the release of the latest film in the Wizarding World universe. Originally slated for a November, 2021 theatrical release, Secrets of Dumbledore is finally here and the first wave of reactions is slowly starting to make there way online. The general vibe seems to be that SoD is a vast improvement over it's predacessor (Crimes of Grindlewald), though not without a few flaws of its own.
A promising start to be sure. Meanwhile, Watertower Records has released the first two tracks of the film online for download and purchase. James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games Series, Raya and the Last Dragon) returns to provide the music for this series, which while not as immediately recognizable and iconic as John Williams early Harry Potter work, is still very impressive in its own right. You can listen to the two tracks below.
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore opens exclusively in theaters on April 15th and stars returning cast members Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, Jude Law as Albus Dumbledore, Dan Foegler as Jacob Kowalski, and Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstien. Other returning cast members include Callum Turner, Fiona Glascott, Poppy Corby-Tuech, Vitoria Yates, William Nadylam, and Jessica Williams in an expanded role. Mads Mikkelsen joins the cast as Gellert Grindelwald, replacing Johnny Depp. Katherine Waterson is slated to return as the American witch Tina Goldstien, though her character has been conspicuously absent from all trailers, posters, and marketing material.
