The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield, on an epic quest to reclaim the Lonely Mountain and the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor.

Having survived the beginning of their unexpected journey, the Company continues East, encountering along the way the skin-changer Beorn and a swarm of giant Spiders in the treacherous forest of Mirkwood. After escaping capture by the dangerous Wood-elves, the Dwarves journey to Lake-town, and finally to the Lonely Mountain itself, where they must face the greatest danger of all - a creature more terrifying than any other; one which will test not only the depth of their courage but the limits of their friendship and the wisdom of the journey itself - the Dragon Smaug.

Ian McKellen returns as Gandalf the Grey, with Martin Freeman in the central role of Bilbo Baggins, and Richard Armitage as Thorin Oakenshield. The international ensemble cast is led by Benedict Cumberbatch, Evangeline Lilly, Lee Pace, Luke Evans, Ken Stott, James Nesbitt, and Orlando Bloom as Legolas. The film also stars (in alphabetical order) John Bell, Manu Bennett, Jed Brophy, Adam Brown, John Callen, Ryan Gage, Mark Hadlow, Peter Hambleton, Stephen Hunter, William Kircher, Lawrence Makoare, Sylvester McCoy, Graham McTavish, Dean O'Gorman, Mikael Persbrandt, and Aidan Turner.

Is the reason I can't see or read anything because I am using an iPad?

I still think she could be great as Zatanna.

For those that can't watch:

-Lilly said she's a Tolkien purist. So she was nervous about playing a new character but Tauriel didn't interrupt the flow or authenticity of the story from the novel.

-When she signed up for the role, she asked producers to guarantee there wouldn't be a love triangle. Guess what...her character is in a love triangle. Originally there wasn't but the reshoots added one. Kili (dwarf) and Legolas (elf) compete for her affections.

-She didn't work out for the role because she had just had a baby.

Awesome. A love triangle, cause that makes sense and is totally necessary. I knew there was something missing from the book.

Being a Tolkien purist.

Playing a character invented for the movies who's part of a love triangle invented for the movies, involving one other character who also wasn't in the book.

[frick]ing great...

Let's be honest,if you have to add a live triangle & use a made up character..using Lily is the only way to go. She's awesome-sauce!

This is gonna sound weird but every time I see a pic of her in the Hobbit trailer it looks like the wife from Everybody Loves Raymond in cosplay to me. I have no idea why. I've seen pictures of this actress elsewhere and there is no resemblance. Yet when I see her in Hobbit related imagery (knowing what she really looks like) I still see Deborah Barone in cosplay. Save me from myself.
