Meet the Armourer

Meet the Armourer

When you're making a film taking place in knight-time, you would be hard pressed to find someone better suited for the task than Terry English, who has been helping to bring knights to life for over 40 years. Among his credits are John Boorman's Excalibur and Clive Owen's King Arthur.

Thanks, Ranger14, I screwed up the code.

Terry English is a veteran creator of knights outfits for some classic films and we're just trying to showcase him. I know it's a long time, but his work on Excalibur is incredible.

You guys should go to earthmightiest more often. It's a great site and lots of cool stuff. Also read teabags fancast. It sucks, but a good read non the less. ;)

Good article, if a bit short...I can never get enough info on the Techs that actually make the images into reality. The golden chestpiece that he is holding in one of the pics looks awesome!

Also, the listing of directors that come to him for his work is astounding...some real visionaries look to him for his input- that must be the best kind of kudos!

@SuperDog: I did before posting, that's where I got to see the article and pics. Granted, the pic on this site is one of the ones on EarthsMightiest, but it's much smaller here. Once I was there, I was able to see the detail of the chestpiece that impressed me.

Granted, I realize that a good reporter delivers just enough details to make the reader look further into the story, and EarthsMightiest is good at planting a hook in a reader's mouth (so to speak), but I wish that there was more for me to sink my teeth into.

I'm thoroughly content to read a single paragraph or two about the actors themselves...but I could easily read pages and pages about guys like Stan Winston, Ray Harryhausen, and Douglas Trumbull.
