Robin Hood comic book roots.


Robin Hood is an upcoming film based on the Robin Hood legend, directed by Ridley Scott and starring Russell Crowe. The movie began development in 2007 when Universal acquired a script entitled Nottingham, depicting a heroic Robin Hood to be played by Crowe. Scott's dissatisfaction with the script led him to delay filming, and during 2008 it was rewritten into a story about Robin Hood becoming an outlaw, with the position of being Sheriff as part of the story. Scott dropped the latter notion and Nottingham was retitled to reflect the more traditional angle.









































Due for release on May 14th, 2010 next summer.

lc...where does your misplaced anger stem from? LEE has said it many times that he posts on his own articles to discourage firsters. I don't think anyone else has a problem with it.

Great Find LEE. I especially like the Robin hood comic book pictures. Who was the publisher of those top six? I can't tell.
I'm pretty pumped to see crow as hood. I was a little shocked at first because I immediately thought of costner's Robin hood, but he looks the part.
Also has anyone ever seen the BBC Robin Hood show? The first season was really great.

Yeah ive seen that BBC series, pretty good, much better than the ROBIN HOOD series that was more like HERCULES an XENA heh heh. Pity its cancelled now, an they got a crappy show called MERLIN!!

Damn, this new ROBIN HOOD movie looks sweet!!

I don't know how I feel about this movie yet...I just have trouble seeing Russell Crowe as Robin Hood. But...I would be interested in seeing a trailer....who knows, it might be awesome.

supermarioworldE--Yes, that is a shame. They'll still catch them on tv some rainy day and wonder what that hilarious movie was. Sans nudity and cursing of course. I love Mel Brooks' "no one is safe" approach to comedy.

I love Crowe as an actor, but he does not have the look or the age of Robin Hood. They should have went with someone younger, God knows the talent is out there.

Do we really need another Robin Hood movie. This story is one of the most damaging stories to society that has ever been created, with the exception of the Rainbow Fish. Right now we in the US are living the Robin Hood ideal. Redistribution of wealth is not a good thing, it is the basis of socialism. I cannot deal with any more socialism. I don't like book burnings but with Robin Hood I make exception. Goodnight from the United Socialist States of America, formerly a free country.

You can't be serious 21...really?? It's a tale about throwing down a tyrannical regime that taxed its populace unfairly and without their consent...does that sound familiar to you?
It should because it's the very same story as our own country's origin. A bunch of wealthy merchants didn't feel like paying their taxes so they rebelled.

Robin Hood was never a class warrior, he was a noble and though he fought for the common man he was still a noble and was ostensibly fighting to get his title and land restored. This of course is the fictional character, the historical person is a complete mystery and have never existed at all.

yeah, I liked the first two seasons, but once they killed maid merrium I stopped watching. It was good though, and I loved seeing him go to the holy land again.
I love the guy who plays the sheriff, "A clue? No!" one of the best lines ever.
