Awhile ago a whole gaggle of journalists were invited to visit the set of
Snow White and the Huntsman, and now the embargo has been lifted. British actor Sam Claflin participated in the interview session.
Sam will be playing the Prince, but he didn't really give too much away, but he did reveal his character's struggle,
"trying to be somebody else. I’m trying not to be who my father wants me to be and try to be a better person."
Add in a bit of incestous casting between the two competing Snow White films we learn that Sam auditioned for Armie Hammer's part of Prince Charming in
Mirror, Mirro. Which is some what funny since Lily Collins, who plays Snow White in that film, auditioned for Kristen Stewart's Snow White role.
I think Armie Hammer was always their number one choice. But I kind of saw more similarities in their prince and the part I played in Pirates, whereas (with this) I thought I wanted to pick up a sword and I wanted to do a bit of fighting and get a bit grittier, and hopefully sort of open a few more doors for me.
Snow White & The Huntsman, will open in theaters June 1, 2012.
