The Walking Dead is nearing its end, and while most of the main cast members have already left the series, there's a lot of intrigue surrounding what those who are still part of the zombie drama will do next.
Among them is Norman Reedus, perhaps the biggest star still standing in the AMC series and someone who has been a fan-favourite choice to play a rebooted Johnny Blaze in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for some time now. Rumour has it Marvel Studios does have plans for Ghost Rider, and with that eleventh season of TWD on the horizon, this would be pretty perfect timing.
Talking to ComicBook.com, Reedus said it would be "so fun" to play the character, adding: "The Ghost Rider conversation has been coming up for years, and yeah, tell them to put me in it. I want to play Ghost Rider."
When it was suggested he could reunite with The Walking Dead's Jon Bernthal, who plays Frank Castle/The Punisher, the actor said, "That would be great. So, I don't know, call somebody, make that happen. I want to do it. I want a fire skull. I want my face to turn into a fire skull and whip a chain around. That would be great. I got 12 [motorcycles]. I'd just pick one. I'll do it, yeah."
Reedus has spent the past decade or so riding a motorbike in The Walking Dead, and while taking on the lead role in a Ghost Rider project might be a little on the nose, it could work well.
Do you think Reedus would be a good choice to follow in Nic Cage's footsteps?
