OFFICIAL SYPNOSIS

In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first Human ever selected: Hal Jordan.

Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris, if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax… he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

- Krona, one of the 8 Guardians of the Universe leaves the planet Oa in search of a "power beyond his comprehension". Heading to the Vega System in a deep hidden cave, he finds the Yellow Central Battery Power where in the heart lies Parallax, the Fear Parasite that takes over Krona and escapes beginning to consume numerous planets in fear before being stopped and trapped in the "Lost Sector" bound by chains of Willpower where it would be trapped for all eternity.

- Alien Astronauts searching the Lost Sector in present day find Parallax and it uses their fear to escape once again going to consume more planets in Fear.

- Parallax's form grows in size the more worlds he consumes, to accomadate all the souls he has taken that lie within his cloud form.

- Parallax attacks the planet Ventara in Sector 2815 killing that sectors Green Lantern, forcing Abin Sur the Green Lantern of Sector 2814 to come to his aid and try and evacuate the planet. Parallax has already consumed the planet and attacks Sur in his ship injuring him forcing him to crash on Earth where he hands the ring to Hal Jordan.

- The "Department of Extranormal Activities" picks up the arrival of Abin Sur's ship on satelites and radars and force Hal Jordan and his friend Tom Kalmaku to flee the crash site. The DEO then dig up the recently buried Abin Sur's body and take his ship.

- Hal takes the Lantern back to his apartment and tries to charge it as Abin Sur instructed. However he doesn't know the Oath and so the Lantern pulls it out of him. He then goes to meet Carol Ferris at the bar on a pre-arranged date.

- When Hal leaves the bar alone, 3 U-CAV pilots jump Hal for ruining their Test Flight which was against Hal and Carol in their F-15s. They decide to teach Hal a lesson and beat the crap out of him. They think Hal is done, but he shouts them, they turn around and he uses the ring to create a Giant Fist that knocks all 3 out. Hal is amazed but the ring activates and Hal begins flying at high speed into the air through the atmosphere and into space before a wormhole opens and goes straight through it coming out in another part of space before flying towards Oa.

- He wakes up wearing Green Lantern attire and is greeted by Tomar-Re who gives him more information on the Green Lantern Corps. Hal then flies for the first time with Tomar-Re and go to the Great Hall where Sinestro has called a meeting for all Lanterns. He tells of the danger of Parallax and of the death of his former mentor, Abin Sur and that he will get the answers they seek from the Guardians.

- Tomar-Re then takes Hal to see Kilowog for Ring Training. Kilowog begins putting him through his paces before Sinestro arrives to see the human. Sinestro then tests out Hal himself and the two battle with Jordan at first struggling before showing his worth to the Green Lanterns. Hal is then made aware of the threat of Parallax and that it is heading to Earth.

- Hector Hammond, a Xenobiologist at Coast City University is brought in by the DEO to examine the body of Abin Sur. A shard of Parallax in the injured area however infects Hammond. The shard then slowly begins to affect Hammond more and more causing his head to grow in a grutesque size and gives him telepathic and telekinetic abilities.

-Green Lantern's first appearance is at a Ferris Aircraft party held by owner Carl Ferris who announces that his daughter Carol will become the company's new President. An incoming helicopter then crashes and Hal turns into Green Lantern and saves the day. He then becomes a world-wide phenomenom with saves around the world, as Hector Hammond gets worse blaming Green Lantern.

-Hammond is then caught and quarenteened by the DEO before he attacks them and his father who agreed to his capture before Green Lantern arrives to stop him. Hammond however proves to be an equal force for Green Lantern resulting in the death of Sen. Robert Hammond.

-Hal begins to doubt himself as a hero. Carol who found out earlier that Hal is Green Lantern convinces Hal that he has it within him to overcome his fears and become a great Green Lantern.

-Meanwhile on Oa, the Guardians reveal to Sinestro the origins of Parallax and the hidden fact that their brother Krona is the host. They then reveal that they are constructing a Yellow Power Ring to battle the creature and wish that Sinestro would battle the creature.

-Hector Hammond captures Carol Ferris and calls to Green Lantern to meet him at the Hangar. Green Lantern arrives and he demands he hand over the ring to him, believing it will cure him as it caused his mutation. He takes the ring but it will not work under his command. Hal then calls the Ring back to him and turns into Green Lantern once again. Before they can battle any more, Parallax crashes through the Hangar and absorbs the part of himself from Hector before taking his soul. Hal goes to check on Hector but is dragged back by Parallax who tries to consume his soul but his willpower is too strong and Hal escapes with Carol.

-Parallax then begins consuming the citizens of Coast City but Green Lantern returns and attacks Parallax who proves too strong for Hal who draws him away from Coast City and into space and through the wormwhole to Oa. There, Sinestro and the entire Green Lantern Corps are awaiting to ambush the creature. A massive battle ensues before they defeat the creature.

-The Yellow Power Ring is completed and sealed away on Oa and is the final shot of the movie.
