Just yesterday AICN learned that Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen, Nightmare on Elm Street) is at the top of the list to play the villain Sinestro in the upcoming "Green Lantern" movie.

Collider caught up with Haley on the red carpet of Spike TV's 2009 Scream Awards and asked if there is any truth to the rumor. "I was very shocked to hear that. I heard about it the same way you did," said Haley, adding that nobody has called him to come in for an audition.

AICN never said that Haley was cast, but simply that the studio is creating their wishlist that has Haley at the top.

Even though Haley denied being cast as Sinestro, he refused to confirm that he will not be in "Green Lantern." "I don't know anything about it yet," he said. "If something comes up, I'll let you know."

Ozy:Well Im kind of glad, he doesnt look like Sinestro at all to me!

I'm glad it was just a rumor, I can't see him as Sinny at all!

Jason Isaacs is the human embodiment of Sinestro, no f*cking contest! :)

I hate RUMORS!!!

He was a all wrong for SIN, plus he has done like 2 DC roles already this year!

I don't mind ISAACS but he ain't the only choice, my FIRST choice is HUGO WEAVING!!



ISAACS makes a better MR SINISTER!! But he is my second choice lol. : D

Hugo Weaving = Brainiac



Isaacs is the best Sinestro, though he would be a great Sinister, but they're in separate universes.

Brainiac is one of DC's best villains.

He should be a mix of CGI/motion-capture, and actual physical parts.

Lee: Sinestro and Sinister have completely different appearances. They look literally nothing alike. It's not that big of a deal.

He's not even the best Sinister, Keith David is 100%.

David looks remarkably similar to Sinister, plus Sinister is covered in white make-up, they could easily make him more identical to the character.

Regardless of that, David fits Mr. Sinister's character to the T. He's got the voice of God, is tall, has a scary look in his face, and is a great actor.

to be honest I never even thought of jackie earle haley.I guess he would be good but to be honest I was hoping for Hugo weaving or jason isaacs.Well i guess it coud be worst ,they think of Justin Timberlake again -TIMBERLAKE!!!!! I am still upset that they even considered him for the part of Hal Jordan.Thank goodness ryan got the part that's all I can say....TIMBERLAKE!!!!!(fist shaking in the air while saying his name)

yeah, timberlake would have been awful. I'm still a bit weary about ryan, but at least he's somewhat similar to hal. timberlake barely gets by on acting. Could this movie take any longer to come out? It's hard, to wait 2 years

Some of those Peanuts pics need to be adjusted. Linus should be OwlMan and Batman(repectively).

I'd be pleased if either Isaacs or Weaving get to be Sinestro. But in the end, I'm with Tyler on this one. If Isaacs becomes Sinestro, Weaving would be a terrific Brainiac.

Can we get off the Hugo band wagon and give someone else a chance to act! I think Jackie would be a refreshing face in there they do have Ryan as their current big name (though still secretly hoping for Nathan Fillion to get it through some accident).

Spend the money on a name with Killawog or the rest and give a killer support cast!

Tyler is right Jason Isaacs no f,.king contest. hugo don't have an athletic frame, and looks to old next to, to u people, omnipresent Ryan Reynolds, instead Jason look only mature not old.
