In a recent interview with MTV, Brian Michael Bendis, writer of the comic was asked by MTV if any of the story lines in the comic could ever take place in a real film, he responded. “At least for now, the legality of copyright and trademark would make certain storylines impossible in the movies, i like doing it for the comics!” Bendis then tells how and why he decided to add Venom into the Guardians of the Galaxy comics story arc, “I looked it up and I was like no, there’s been a planet we’ve seen taken over by symbiotes, but have we not seen the planet of the symbiotes?” He then adds, “I called [Marvel Senior Vice President Of Publishing] Tom Brevoort, I go, could it be that even in the craziness of the ’90s when it was Venom, Venom, Venom every five seconds, that this story has not been told? And he goes, yeah we’ve never been there. And I’m like, now I have to do it! It’s crazy.” With all that said how do you think your going to like seeing venom take on the Guardians of the Galaxy?
The story arc for the next three editions are titled, “Planet Venom” . Check out the first image of it below drawn by Nick Bradshaw.

@Mrcool210

Planet of the Symbiotes was an invasion on Earth by Symbiotes. This story is supposed to actually take you to their home planet, which has never been done before from what I know of.

@Babygroot they went to the symbiote home planet in planet of the symbiotes, they use a portal to teleport there, and that portal is how the symbiotes end up on earth, so yeah, they have gone there before.

No its not.

Read my review on Bendis run please.

''Proof that Bendis should stick with noir and street level characters like Daredevil and that he can't write space or supernatural characters. He also seems to hate Continuity with a passion.

People who are not familiar with Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning stories or the two previous Annihilation events may enjoy this run, but most ''cosmic'' fans i've met on the internet(cosmicbooknews especially) really rrrreeeally hated Bendis run.(i've lost count of the ''bring back DnA'' chantings i have found on forums and youtube comments), and i agree.

The characters looks and act almost nothing like the ones from DnA's run, most of the issues are just explosions and witty banters, decompressed panels a go go(a stample of Bendis writing) and the presence of characters like Ironman, Captain Marvel(Carol Danvers) and Venom smells like a ''Wolverine Publicity''( http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php... ) from a mile.

Also Bendis, why your run is more Earth-focused than the previous one? what part of ''Guardians of the GALAXY'' did you not understand?

Also a character like Angela(originally a character from Image's Spawn) doesn't fit with the Guardians at all and she is in the Marvel Universe just because Neil Gaiman wanted to troll Todd McFarlane after their legal battle over the rights of the character.

The only things i liked of Bendis run so far are Star-Lord origins and the gorgeous artwork of Steve Mcniven and Sara Pichelli(makes me proud to be italian).

Bottom line, avoid this book and stick with Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning stuff.''
