James Gunn has previously spoken about the songs he would play while shooting the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie that never actually made it into the final cut, and now the director has shared that "Awesome Mix Vol. 0" via Spotify.

For the most part, the tunes are a lot more contemporary than the track-lists from the officially released Awesome Mixes, but there are also one or two '90s classics on here.

This’ll be interesting to hear what was played during production. I tried listening to Awesome Mix Vol.1 but I didn’t enjoy it as much without the movie.

Yeah nostalgia and all but not for me🤷🏽‍♂️

Among all the reasons GOTG's become the monster it is, is because of the music and the awesome mix vols they're great. But i personally find The Original Score Soundtrack a lot more appealing as beautiful, there are some really touching, fun and amazing pieces in those score soundtracks, Tyler Bates really hit it out of the park with those. Great to hear what was going trough Gunn's ears while filming.

I tried listening to it, but that playlist sucks. There's a reason these songs didn't make it onto the soundtrack.

@blackandyellow - the songs were never intended for the movie. they were to set a feeling behind the scenes of upbeat energy for the long shoot.
