James Gunn took to Facebook earlier today to show off yet another alien from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and he's a character who the filmmaker identifies as Brahl. Played by Super's Stephen Blackehart, I believe he may be one of the Ravagers who we got to see revealed a little earlier this year, but this is a new shot of the character which shows off just how much work went into creating his look.

As Comic Book Resources point out, Brahl hails from Achernon and first appeared in the pages of Thor Annual #6 in 1977. A member of the Minions of Menace, he can become intangible and wields energy blasts which has the same effect on those he targets. In more recent years, he's been established as an enemy to the Guardians, so it makes sense that Gunn has decided to include him in the Ravagers.

Happy Birthday to my very best pal in all the land and my only friend who knows both the historical ins-and-outs of the Third Punic War and how an air-conditioner works, Stephen Blackehart. Here he is as Brahl in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. #GotGVol2. Photo by Steve Agee.

Starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, and Kurt Russell, the movie will be released on May 5th.

I just gotta say, that's pretty good make up we don't see enough of. I love practical effects when it comes to character looks, probably the best in recent memory being Killer Croc.

Hate the movie all you want, that's some pretty cool make up
