Lloyd Kaufman Has A "Small Part" In Marvel's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

In an interview with Crave Online, writer/director/screenwriter/actor Lloyd Kaufman (who's also the co-founder of the Troma Entertainment film studio) revealed that he will reunite with director James Gunn on Marvel Studios' space epic Guardians Of The Galaxy. He says that he will have a small part in the film, and that he'll also work behind-the-scenes (as he did on Gunn's Super and Slither). However, he sounds uncertain as to whether or not he'll be in the final film, as he also had a small part in Slither and Gunn cut "my improvised line". You can check out Kaufman's comments on Guardians Of The Galaxy below, and click the source link to read his entire interview with Crave.

"Yeah, he’s giving me a part. I’m going to be in his movie. I’m going to London at the end of June to play a small part. ... We’ll see what happens. James is a good guy. I think it’ll be interesting just to see what it’s like and I’ll shoot some behind the scenes. I did it for Slither, I did it for Super. I did two pieces for Super."

Guardians Of The Galaxy stars Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Benicio Del Toro, John C. Reilly, Karen Gillian and Glenn Close. The film is set to hit theaters August 1st, 2014.

I remember an article in August where Pearce calls his role just a cameo in Ironman 3, I cease to believe anything at this point. He is probably Rocket Racoon

Except that Pearce was an actually confirmed role by the studio, not what is seemingly just a favor from Gunn towards this guy. Not to mention Pearce is actually a well known actor and we already knew who he would be playing.

He could be Groot. You only need one line for that part.

I'm betting he's the voice of Rocket who's cgi like Gollum.

Going by Troma, I'd say I think he plays the part of Zoe Saldana's character's sentient knickers.

Lloyd's awesome and an inspiration to a lot of young filmmakers. Plus, of course, he gave James his first break back with "Tromeo and Juliet" so him doing a cameo would just be cool.

I'm gonna go with a cameo and one-line as a cosmic barman in a real dive of a bar like in this featured article's top picture.

Hold up.. "Small part" could very well be a double entendre, and one character comes to mind instantly...

why are we calling this a "space epic"? taking place in space doesn't necessarily make it epic. and story wise, we know next to nothing about it.

that aside, don't know the dude.

@Shamo An epic isn't just an adjective, it's a kind of narrative dwelling heavily on themes of adventure, mythology, and drama, usually on a grand scale. The fact that the story isn't limited to the confines of earth and will show a cosmic perspective of the Marvel universe featuring many otherwordly species/aliens defines it as such; a space epic.

@TeeKay, that would be "Something WICKED..." not "evil"

@neon, exactly as you say. grand in scale. simply because the movie doesn't take place on earth doesn't equate to it being epic in scale.

the entire movie could be set in Knowhere far all we know. it doesn't necesarily mean it will take place on vast scale or be some grand adventure with an epic scope.

Now, that is what I call a cast.

Except maybe Dave Bautista. I really can't believe they cheaped out on Khal Drogo - he would have been awesome.
