New Illustrative Poster For GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Focuses On "The Destroyer"

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.

Starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Benicio del Toro, Guardians of the Galaxy is set to be released on August 1st.

0mega - I can see a part of his face, but only through squinting. But damn it would be awesome to see Annihilation on the big screen, but Marvel doesn't have some of their big players so it probably wouldn't work out too well.

Dave is great as Drax. All of the characters have scenes that they steal... I've been trying to figure out who my favorite was and I can't name one. ALL of them are funny at times, serious at times and kick @$$ at times... I will say that Bautista has one of the most touching scenes of the entire film...

That's awesome to hear @NateBest! I had my doubts because I really didn't enjoy Dave's recent run in WWE, but everything I've seen of him in the clips and TV spots makes me think he'll steal the show. His line delivery and timing seems spot on when it comes to getting a lot of laughs!

I thought everything gelled really well (cast, effects, soundtrack, etc.).

I wouldn't worry about being spoiled by the trailers, there is a LOT that happens in the film that hasn't made it into the trailers/videos. There's more to all of the scenes they've released, even the ones that seem complete.

So funny in that "I got a plan" scene how groot changes his tone of voice when saying "its better then 11pct" and Quill patting him on the back and saying groots the only one who gets it, and Groot eats vegatation off his arm.lol

God Groot is cute.lol His little half smile when Quill shows hes happy with him makes me want to hug him. I'd truly be a tree hugger if I hung with Groot.lol

I've only seen the second trailer. I've tried to avoid all of these spots and clips and extended trailers but it's so damn hard. Can not wait for this [frick]ing movie.

He really needs a couple of guns on the end of those daggers. A laser machete strapped to his back wouldn't hurt either.
