We already know from the trailers and TV spots that James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy will feature some great tunes from the 80s, and the very unique soundtrack cover promises an "Awesome" mix for fans to enjoy. There's no track listing yet, but hit the jump to check it out!

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.

Though the soundtrack is available to pre-order on Amazon, there currently is no track listing, and that will be an interesting reveal for two reasons. Firstly, it will offer up some potential spoilers about the movie, and secondly, we'll know which other 80s songs we should be listening out for! What do you guys think? Starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Benicio del Toro, Guardians of the Galaxy is set to be released on August 1st.

That is perhaps the greatest soundtrack cover that has ever been produced. I'm certainly buying this for all the amazing songs on it.

So, Hooked on a Feeling, Spirit in the Sky, and Cherry Bomb are all practically guaranteed since they were in trailers and TV Spots, but... I'm wondering what other great songs will be in the movie itself. Specifically, if they'll be a great song during the end credits similar to Highway to Hell in IM2 or Live to Rise in Avengers.

As much as I think this movie looks silly, that soundtrack cover is pretty cool.

Dude, if they are smart about this, they'll release an actual cassette tape. I drive a 1981 Ford Ranger Lariat haha. It's either cassette, radio or auxiliary cord.

Cassette tape? I don't even know anyone that still buys CDs. Just buy that shit off of ITunes. Digital is so much more convenient.

Even if "Ooh Child" is on it, it's most likely a remix, or remastered like the other songs, it still sounds like it'll fit

That System of a Down album title is the best ever! Next to Fallout Boys "Our Lawyers Made Us Change The Title Of This Song So We Wouldn't Be Sued".
