GOTG Vol. 2: Vin Diesel Teases The Possibility Of A Groot/Rocket Spinoff And A Battle With The Hulk
In a new interview, Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2's Vin Diesel teases the prospect of some very exciting developments regarding Groot and his best pal Rocket. Does he know something we don't?...
Screen Junkies caught up with Vin Diesel at Brazil's CCXP over the weekend, and the actor dropped some intriguing hints in regards to what might be next for Rocket Raccoon and his character, Groot, following their next big screen outing in Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2.
The Fast and Furious star seems pretty confident that it's only a matter of time before we see thie dynamic duo get the spinoff treatment, and he also says he "knows" that Groot VS. The Incredible Hulk is in the cards.
"I think if it’s up to James Gunn, you are going to see a Groot and Rocket movie after Infinity War. I think that’s highly possible. We shall see. I know that, somewhere in the universe, you are going to see Groot and Hulk battle. You can write it somewhere. You are going to see that poster: Hulk vs. Groot.
Now keep in mind this may just be wishful thinking on Diesel's part, but then there is also the possibility that he has been privy to certain plans (or at least a discussion or 2) relating to the big-screen futures of these characters.
One thing we do know for sure is that Kevin Feige is a very smart man, and if Rocket and Groot's return in GOTG Vol. 2 proves to be as popular with fans as the reaction to the new trailer would seem to indicate, I wouldn't bet against that spinoff.
What do you guys make of this? Sound off in the usual place.
