Filmmaker James Gunn has said on multiple occasions that Peter Quill has no interest in returning to Earth, but it appears The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will bring him home for a Christmastime adventure. As you can see below, new set photos shared by Mail Online have revealed a fresh look at Dave Bautista and Pom Klementieff suited up as Drax and Mantis.

The perplexed duo were seen hanging out on Hollywood Boulevard, clearly confused by what's happening there. The heroes were said to be exploring Madame Tussauds, taking in some of the wax statues (clearly during the holiday season based on the decorations surrounding them).

Bautista appears to have soured on Marvel Studios in recent years, and many fans believe Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will close the door on Drax's story. As for Mantis, her journey is only really just beginning, and given her comic book counterpart's history with The Avengers, it would be no bad thing to bring her to Earth on a somewhat more permanent basis following the threequel.

Gunn wrote and directed this Holiday Special while shooting Vol. 3, and we're hoping for an official look soon. Don't be surprised if a teaser drops over the summer once we've seen Thor: Love and Thunder.
