Seems somewhat strange that Warner Bros. would release a whopping number of clips all in one day. It smells of desperation and you have to wonder if their internal numbers are projecting a soft opening. Many fans of the original soap opera haven't been thrilled with the comedic tone of the trailers and television spots. Perhaps Warner Bros. has heard the complaints as you will notice in the clips below that there is less of an emphasis on humor. The darker tone of these clips might be enough to convince the
Dark Shadows fan base that the marketing has been misleading.

Dark Shadows also stars Helena Bonham-Carter, Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green, Chloe Moretz and Jackie Earle Haley. The film will be in theaters May 11th, 2012.

I like Burton, I just don't like this at all.
And Depp? talk about over exposure.
And this guy loves him some make-up.

Here's the deal: Burton's movie's make enough money to warrant 'the next one'.
He's juicing a profit for the studio's who hire him.

He has his fan base.

His movie's are stylized ...and predictable- like the taste of a McDonald's cheesebuger.

I don't like his sh** at all- or McDonald's cheesebugers- but that's me...

Burton's a studio hack IMO.

Not the disaster the trailers would make it out to be
still, hit & miss

I'm not a Burton fan, and worn out of Depp in makeup, but Dark Shadows seems like the PERFECT fit for them.

The trailer looks fun.

I dunno, it´s not really that unusual that a studio releases several clips at the same day, I seen it for other major releases. It´s also not so unusual that a movie adaptation of an old TV show has a more comedic tone - Starsky And Hutch, for instance, was kind of a gritty show for its time, but it was turned into a comedy. I suppose DS has more of a loyal fan following.

these clips have done their job...I now want to see this movie more then I did before watching them...I like the dark humor of this...I was never a fan of the show, but I am of Depp and Burton, so I will give this movie a watch...but probably not in the theatres...Both of the females in this are horribly ugly!!..thank God for Michelle, that old cougar can come calling anytime...this also has the last appearance of the original star...and was accepted by him...so I really don't understand all the heat from its fan-base...
