Netflix bet big on Zack Snyder to deliver a hit with Army of the Dead, and that paid off big time for the streaming service. As you can see below, they're projecting that around 72 million households will tune into the blockbuster in its first four weeks of release, making it one of their biggest movies to date.
For context, Extraction remains Netflix's biggest hit with 99 million views during its first month.
Army of the Dead would be joint ninth with George Clooney's The Midnight Sky, while the streamer's other most popular movies include the likes of 6 Underground, Murder Mystery, Bird Box, Spenser Confidential, The Old Guard, Enola Holmes, and Project Power.
It's no wonder that Netflix is going all in on Army of the Dead, with both a prequel movie and anime series on the way. Common sense says that they'll also look to Snyder for a sequel down the line.
In our review, we concluded by saying "Zack Snyder makes zombies cool again in Army of the Dead, but falls into bad habits along the way. Dave Bautista, however, steals the show, and the movie is fun, dumb, and wacky enough to make this a franchise we hope to sink our teeth into again."
