The Ghost with the Most has got some game!
Following the recent news that Tim Burton's Beetlejuice sequel has now officially entered production, THR is reporting that Monica Bellucci and Willem Dafoe have joined the cast.
Belluci is set to play the titular bio-exorcist's wife, while Dafoe is said to be "playing a law enforcement officer in the afterlife.”
Michael Keaton is set to reprise his role as Betelgeuse, along with Winona Ryder as Lydia Deetz. It's also been confirmed that Catherine O'Hara will be back as Delia Deetz.
Other new cast members include Jenna Ortega as Lydia's daughter, and Justin Theroux in an undisclosed role.
Bellucci rose to fame starring in Italian and French movies such as Malèna, Irreversible and Brotherhood of the Wolf, before going on to appear in the likes of the Matrix movies, The Passion of the Christ, and Spectre. She can currently be seen opposite Toni Collette in Mafia Mamma.
Dafoe will be best known 'round these parts for playing the Green Goblin in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man and the recent No Way Home, but he's appeared in countless films over the years, including The Northman, Shadow of the Vampire, and The Lighthouse. He will next re-team with Robert Eggers for Nosferatu.
Wednesday creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are currently working on the script.
The movie will hit theaters on Sept. 6, 2024.
