Set in 1930’s London at a time of Hollywood glamour, aerodynamic cars and monster movies, the drama pays homage to the Stevenson novel, and focuses on the young, attractive, troubled hero, Robert Jekyll, the grandson of the original doctor. Robert Jekyll’s quest is to discover his real identity, his true family history and the nature of his ‘curse’. Jekyll transforms into superhero Hyde in moments of extreme anger, stress and when his or the lives of others are threatened.

The new fantasy show of Jekyll and Hyde stars Tom Bateman as Jekyll and Hyde, Richard E. Grant as Bullstrode, Natalie Gumede as Bella and Donald Sumpter as Garson.

Jekyll & Hyde airs every Sunday at 6.30pm on ITV (UK and Ireland). TBA for the United States and the rest of the world.

Jekyll & Hyde has been published by many comic book properties.

I recently read the original book, I didn't really enjoy it. It doesn't really get interesting until the last chapter.

Looks okay, I might actually check this out. At least it actually appears to be horror, and not another attempt at turning a HORROR franchise into an action film or something stupid like that.

What studios need to learn is this:

If you wouldn't turn Batman or Doctor Who into a slasher film, then don't turn a horror franchise in to an action film, comedy, etc (parodies aside).
