After debuting it at CinemaCon last week, Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema have released the official trailer for Olivia Wilde's upcoming Don't Worry Darling, which stars Florence Pugh (Black Widow; Hawkeye) and Harry Styles (Dunkirk; Eternals) in the lead roles.

The film is being billed as a psychological thriller, but seems to be playing with a lot of different genres and may even have some sci-fi elements, as Wilde did tell us at CinemaCon that she was heavily inspired by both Christopher Nolan's Inception and Peter Weir's The Truman Show.

Wilde has assembled quite a supporting cast for the film as Pugh and Styles will be joined by Chris Pine (Star Trek Beyond; Wonder Woman), Gemma Chan (Eternals; Captain Marvel), KiKi Layne (The Old Guard; If Beale Street Could Talk), Nick Kroll (Big Mouth; The League), Sydney Chandler (PistolChemistry), Kate Berlant (Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood; Sorry to Bother You), Asif Ali (WandaVision; The Mandalorian), Douglas Smith (Big Little Lies; The Alienist), Timothy Simons (Veep; Inherent Vice) and Ari’el Stachel (Jessica JonesRespect the Jux).

Check out the official trailer and full-length synopsis below:

Alice (Pugh) and Jack (Styles) are lucky to be living in the idealized community of Victory, the experimental company town housing the men who work for the top-secret Victory Project and their families. The 1950’s societal optimism espoused by their CEO, Frank (Pine)—equal parts corporate visionary and motivational life coach—anchors every aspect of daily life in the tight-knit desert utopia.

While the husbands spend every day inside the Victory Project Headquarters, working on the “development of progressive materials,” their wives—including Frank’s elegant partner, Shelley (Chan)—get to spend their time enjoying the beauty, luxury and debauchery of their community. Life is perfect, with every resident’s needs met by the company. All they ask in return is discretion and unquestioning commitment to the Victory cause.

But when cracks in their idyllic life begin to appear, exposing flashes of something much more sinister lurking beneath the attractive façade, Alice can’t help questioning exactly what they’re doing in Victory, and why. Just how much is Alice willing to lose to expose what’s really going on in this paradise?

Looks really cool. Booksmart was a great start for Wilde as a director, I like what I'm seeing from Chris Pine, and Florence Pugh is always welcome.

Also, 1:56 the "Florence Pugh watches someone plummet to their death" saga continues!

The cast & crew and the premise are intriguing already. I don't even need to watch the trailer to be interested in this.

@JFerguson - And apparently she's doing a sports biopic next. She clearly wants to make sure she doesn't get pigeon-holed.

Loved Booksmart, so I was excited for whatever Wilde did next. This looks outstanding, but obviously something VERY different. Can't wait to see it, and glad to see Wilde isn't pigeonholing herself as a director.

And of course, Pugh's domination of Hollywood continues to grow, while Chris Pine is gracefully aging out of generic action roles into the more unique dramatic performances worthy of his talent.
