Lee Cronin's Evil Dead Rise is set to hit theaters later this month, and tickets are now on sale.
To accompany the announcement, Studio Canal has debuted a new poster spotlighting the "Mother of Evil," as well as a final trailer featuring some unsettling new footage.
While this latest promo isn't quite a gory as the first red band trailer, it still contains a fair bit of messed up stuff!
In Rise, a single mother is the unfortunate target of a Kandarian demon, aka a "Deadite,", who awakens after her son finds the Necronomicon and plays the incantations on his turntable.
Let's just say, things get... messy!
Check out the trailer and poster below.
I caught a screening of the movie earlier this week, and it really is as f*cked up as the early reactions suggested.
“In the fifth Evil Dead film, a road-weary Beth pays an overdue visit to her older sister Ellie, who is raising three kids on her own in a cramped L.A apartment. The sisters’ reunion is cut short by the discovery of a mysterious book deep in the bowels of Ellie’s building, giving rise to flesh-possessing demons, and thrusting Beth into a primal battle for survival as she is faced with the most nightmarish version of motherhood imaginable.”
Evil Dead Rise hits theaters on April 21. Keep an eye out for our review early next week.
