John Krasinski's recent horror film, A Quiet Place, has debuted to much acclaim from critics and average moviegoers alike. The film held 100% before settling at 97% "fresh" on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, where its critics consensus calls it a "ruthlessly intelligent creature feature that's as original as it is scary."

Famed horror writer Stephen King recently tweeted his review of the film, describing it as "extraordinary."

King's storied body of works have been translated into 60 films and counting: most recently, the big screen iteration of IT became the highest-grossing horror movie in history.

John Krasinski, who directed and starred in A Quiet Place alongside real-life wife Emily Blunt, responded to King's tweet in a state of amusing disbelief:

King wasn't the only VIP who felt the need to express their fondness of John Krasinski's horror debut. Star of Guardians of the Galaxy and the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War; Chris Pratt recently took to Instagram to express his love for the film, describing it as "like nothing you've ever seen before" and imploring his followers to see it as soon as possible.

The film clearly left quite the impression on the actor, but what about you? Have you seen A Quiet Place yet? If so, what did you think of it? If not, will you take up the above actor and writer on their recommedation?

@regularmovieguy - ...not totally original but still good..."Don't Breathe" and "the Descent" kind of dealt with silence and fear!

Now that's some praise right there when Jodie Verrell (Watch Creepshow for reference) and Star Lord love the movie. In all seriousness glad King and Pratt enjoyed the movie I couldn't agree more with them.

@MrCamw1 - I can't remember the quote from his segment... [frick] it, in the immortal words of Les lie nielson:

"I CAN HOLD MY BREATH FOR A LOOOOONG TIME!"

@rexlincoln - Great short. I wished he had been cast as more villains before he passed cause Creepshow showed he could pull it off. One quote I remember which I thought was sad from the Kings short went something like "I'm A goner already pa" which has to die with him debating getting in the water. Very sad stuff.

@MrCamw1 - Ngl, I've just got home, ordered pizza and informed my gf that we're watching creepshow tonight. I have not watched that bad boy in years. The Twilight Zone movie was awesome too, shame it was overshadowed by the incident.

Speaking of Neilson, you ever seen Forbidden Planet. Easilly one of my favorite films.

@rexlincoln - Nice!!! The Crate segment always creeped me out as a kid so I'm curious how your gif is gonna do with that and the cockroach one. As for Forbidden Plabet I haven't seen. I did a quick Google search though and I definitely remember the movie poster. I'll have to check that out.

@MrCamw1 - aha we've just got to the crate bit, completely forgot about it :D Girlfriend's pretty much down for anything movie wise. She'll even get into old Hollywood movies with me which is awesome for a film buff :D

And yeah, man, forbidden planet is pretty cool. It originated a lot of classic sci fi tropes and introduced robbie the robot :)

@rexlincoln - The name Robbie the Robot just clicked something in my head saying I've heard it before. Also you two plan on pulling a double feature with Creepshow 2 or no?!

@MrCamw1 - Well we'be both got the day off tomorrow so we're gonna marathon rosemary's baby, the exorcist and finally getting her to watch annihilation.

Haven't actually seen creepshow 2. Any good?

@rexlincoln - Its not as good as the first. The second one plays more cartoonish. Theres one or two segments that I like in it though. If your a completionist I would recommend if not may not be for you but that's just my opinion. And Annihalation is great so that should be a good watch.

Man, all I've been hearing has been good but I just don't enjoy being scared. Call me a little B-word all you want, I just don't like the feeling I get watching these kind of movies. Which freaking sucks because I want to watch it but literally can't force myself to the theater to actually see it. Probably gonna download it when it comes out on digital.

Its a great movie, very well done. Glad to see it doing so well and getting so much praise, it deserves it all. 9.5/10 for me.

Anyone else find the kids annoying and the parents retarded?

HeavyMetal4Life - 4/8/2018, 9:34 AM
@hufflepuff69 - the parents were great, the kids acted a bit stupid at times but then again, they are kids.
hufflepuff69
hufflepuff69 - 4/8/2018, 9:49 AM
@HeavyMetal4Life - I just think it was insanely stupid to walk in a single file line with ur kids in the back during the apocalypse and also very pretty [frick]ing stupid of them to get pregnant. They literally couldn't protect one of the three they already had.
