Final BRIGHTBURN Trailer Illustrates Just How Terrifying An Evil SUPERMAN Would Be

Director David Yarovesky and James Gunn's Brightburn might be the closest comic book fans ever get to seeing an evil Injustice-esque Superman or live-action Sentry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Produced by James Gunn and directed by David Yarovesky from a script penned by Gunn's brother Mark and cousin Brian, Brightburn hits theaters this Friday, May 24, to kick off a three-day Memorial Day weekend. The film will face stiff competion from Disney's live-action Aladdin and last week's box office champ, John Wick 3

There's also Marvel Studios' Avengers: Endgame, which is still going strong in its 4th week of release as it attempts to dethrone Avatar as the highest-grossing film of all-time.

Check out the creepy final trailer for Brightburn below, and let us know whether you'll be checking out the horror-pic, which has an estimated production budget of $7 million USD or one of the other aformentioned films.

What if a child from another world crash-landed on Earth, but instead of becoming a hero to mankind, he proved to be something far more sinister? With Brightburn, the visionary filmmaker of Guardians of the Galaxy and Slither presents a startling, subversive take on a radical new genre: superhero horror.

How does everybody know this sucks already? Not that I don't believe it... but I've seen so many people say its horrible, and it doesn't look like its even out yet.

@Kman

TMP and Ror have both seen it and said it’s probably going to be one of the worst movies of the year.

It’s out in some international markets I think...also could be preview screenings.

Describing Dragonball as "If Kal-El landed in a Chinese dojo instead of Kansas" is more accurate than Brightburn being similar to Injustice.

I want to like what their doing here, but this is such an easy concept to [frick] up. I'll wait to see it online honestly. Especially since the kid looks like a pretty bad actor.

It’s like 80% boring 20% oh that’s amusing . It’s superman but if his ship brainwashed him into taking over the world

We already have a problem with school shootings. Can you imagine angsty, little white kids with Superman's power set?

Anyway, I read the full plot to this movie... and wow. It’s horrendously dark with no real theme or story. Now I get why some people hate this.

Awful excuse of a movie - and that's exactly what it feels like, an *excuse* to fiddle around with a familiar concept, yet there's nothing remotely interesting or inventive enough to really justify it. Fitting that people keep comparing it to MoS, yet somehow it manages to be even more derivative and uninspired than that one.

@billnye69 - this movie is not about an evil Superman and about a kid from another world with super power

Nothing really new footage wise to see here. Same ole scenes they’ve been showing since the very first trailer. 🤷‍♂️😴
