The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White and her daughter Carrie. Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson, but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell, regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross, to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc.

Hehe, I need to watch the old one again. My girlfriend is a senior in high school and asked me to go with her to her Prom in 2 weeks. Oddly enough she looks damn near exactly like Chloe.

I think Moretz is a superb actress and I'm sure she'll do a great job, but watching that snippet of footage just hammers home the fact that she's too damn pretty for Carrie White. They didn't even really try to de-glam her by the looks of this. Strange.

@Joker its a stereotype. Hot guy = School Jock Hot girl = Cheerleader or Ms.Popular.

With that said I don't buy her as the outcast type.Maybe the trailer will change our minds who knows.

Carrie was creepy because her abilities were NOT a major topic of conversation. She was shy and frightened of what she could do. I like Moretz and do not blame her, but I'm not optimistic. Of course, I will see it anyway because I have no spine. Anyhow - I hope I'm wrong.
