First Official Banner For CARRIE Remake Spotted At The San Diego Comic-Con

It doesn't reveal an awful lot, but the first banner for the highly anticipated remake of the best-selling Stephen King novel has been spotted at one of the convention centres just a few days before the beginning of this year's San Diego Comic-Con.

Many thanks to Shock Till You Drop for the following banner (a larger version can be viewed by clicking on the image below). Filming is already well underway on the remake of the 1976 film and it would appear as if the marketing is about to really ramp up, especially if the o #whathappenedtocarrie" Twitter hashtag is any indication to go by. The remake is directed by Kimberly Peirce and stars Chloë Grace Moretz as Carrie and Julianne Moore as Margaret White. It's expected to be far more faithful to the original novel, but with a modern aesthetic.

The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White and her daughter Carrie. Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson, but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell, regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross, to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc.

STARRING:

Chloë Grace Moretz as Carrie White
Julianne Moore as Margaret White
Judy Greer as Miss Desjardin
Gabriella Wilde as Sue Snell
Alex Russell as Billy Nolan
Cynthia Preston as Eleanor Snell
Ansel Elgort as Tommy Ross
Max Topplin as Jackie Talbott
Kim Roberts as Ms. Arlene Walsh

RELEASE DATE: March 15th, 2013

I don't know about this film, but Juliane Moore is a great actress. I'm curious to see her as Carrie's mother.

Well, IF they were going to be more faithful to the novel, then Carrie should be ugly, overweight, pimply, greasy skin and hair. Moretz is just too cute unless they ugly her up. Also, Moore should make a FANTASTIC Margaret White! Looking forward to her portrayal! And the fact that they're basing it off of the novel which was SO much better and scarier to boot!

my sentiments exactly--completely unnecessary to make this movie.

Family? You know nothing about me except where I live. Move on. You were wrong! The Rock makes an appearance in my town. He lives very close to where Dissuade Spacek lives as well. I still haven't got the pleasure to meet him though. They are just like normal people just have.more money or capitalize on thier respective talents.

Stop being so butthurt. Let's move on and stop this arguing. This is a place to talk about films!

The movie should end with Carrie accidentally getting pregnant, father of child kills her, Carrie comes back as Bloody Mary one way or another!
