Following a timely rights dispute with Friday The 13th director Sean Cunningham, Victor Miller, writer of the original film, has secured the rights to create a brand new installment in the classic horror franchise.
With the $77 million opening of the latest Halloween creating conversations throughout Hollywood, it is interesting to see that producers are already reacting to the slasher's massive success. Interestingly, Jason Vorhees' cinematic debut was inspired by Halloween's release 40 years ago.
In addition to writer Victor Miller's involvement in the reboot, LeBron James is also on board. The Lakers forward, who is set to star and produce Space Jam 2 with Ryan Coogler, will be developing the film through SpringHill Entertainment.
Jason's return to the big screen currently has no distributer.
