GREMLINS Animated Prequel Series In The Works For New WarnerMedia Streaming Service
While we await a solid update on WB's plans for a new Gremlins movie, it's just been announced than an animated prequel series is in the works for the WarnerMedia streaming service. More past the jump...
Last we heard, there was still a plan in place for a big-screen Gremlins sequel/reboot at Warner Bros., but it looks like we're going to be seeing Gizmo and his slightly less adorable pals in animated form first.
Variety reports that a new animated Gremlins series is in the works for the still untitled WarnerMedia streaming service. The show will be written by Gotham and Once Upon a Time scribe Tze Chun, and is expected to be a "period piece that would follow Mr. Wing, the Chinese grandfather played in the films by Keye Luke, as a young man as he goes on adventures with the friendly Mogwai Gizmo."
The series will be produced by Warner Bros. Television and Amblin Television.
That's about all the info we have on this for the moment, but what do you guys think about the prospect of a Gremlins animated series? Drop us a comment down below, and keep an eye on CBM for updates.
