IT: CHAPTER TWO Comic-Con Trailer Makes It Clear That Pennywise Wants His Revenge

As promised, the Comic-Con trailer for IT: Chapter Two has been released, and in it we see that Pennywise is desperate for revenge and clearly about to do some horrifying things to the adult Losers' Club.

The first trailer for IT: Chapter Two played more like an extended clip with some random bits of footage at the end, but it's fair to say that this new Comic-Con sneak peek makes up for that.

Packed full of never before seen footage, it reveals that Pennywise the Clown has been biding his time and plotting revenge for the past 27 years. Now, he's taking out his frustrations out on the adult Losers' Club in a big way and it's going to be pretty damn hard for them to finally put an end to him.

It appears that Warner Bros. and New Line are really pushing the boundaries with that R-Rating, as, at one point, it looks like Pennywise is going to torment Bill by killing a child in front of him!

Pennywise is definitely not clowning around in It Chapter Two. “He’s scarier and he’s angrier,” notes BSkarsgård. “There’s a couple of very brutal things in the film.”

Visually, Pennywise hasn't changed at all since the last time we saw him and he's going to be terrorising the Losers' Club in even more disturbed ways in this sequel. "He’s scarier and he’s angrier," star Bill Skarsgard explains. "There’s a couple of very brutal things in the film."

Director Andy Muschietti gathered the young actors who played the Losers in the first film (pictured: Chosen Jacobs, Finn Wolfhard, Jaeden Martell, Sophia Lillis, and Jeremy Ray Taylor) for scenes in It Chapter Two depicting the recovered memories of the adult characters.

The first movie's impressive cast of kids return in the sequel and here we see director Andy Muschietti alongside Chosen Jacobs, Finn Wolfhard, Jaeden Martell, Sophia Lillis, and Jeremy Ray Taylor. Apparently, their scenes will be used to depict the recovered memories of their adult counterparts.

All the other members of the Losers’ Club, including Richie (Hader) and Bill (McAvoy), don’t remember the traumatic events of their childhood. “When you leave Derry, something happens where you forget it all,” says McAvoy. “I think it’s like a [power] of Pennywise’s. Because if everybody could remember what he gets up to every 27 years through history, we’d go, ‘Hey, Derry’s really f—ed up, we should do something about that. We should send in the f—ing Army!”

Richie (Bill Hader) and Bill (James McAvoy) are pictured here, and neither of them remember the events of their childhood. "When you leave Derry, something happens where you forget it all," says McAvoy. "I think it’s like a [power] of Pennywise’s. Because if everybody could remember what he gets up to every 27 years through history, we’d go, ‘Hey, Derry’s really f—ed up, we should do something about that. We should send in the f—ing Army!"

They’re brought together by Mike (played by Mustafa), who is the one member of the Losers’ Club who still lives in Derry and needs the help of his childhood pals for a repeat match against the killer clown. “He’s trying to figure out what the hell’s going on in this town and what he can do to put an end to this cycle,” says Mustafa. “It’s an obsession for him.”

Mike is reportedly responsible for bringing the Losers' Club back to Derry to stop Pennywise. "He’s trying to figure out what the hell’s going on in this town and what he can do to put an end to this cycle," Isaiah Mustafa reveals. "It’s an obsession for him."

The Losers’ Club — James McAvoy as Bill Denbrough, James Ransone as Eddie Kaspbrak, Jessica Chastain as Beverly Marsh, Bill Hader as Richie Tozier, Isaiah Mustafa as Mike Hanlon, and Jay Ryan as Ben Hanscom  — reconvenes in Derry 27 years after facing off against Pennywise, who was beaten but not destroyed at the end of 2017’s It.

A fantastic, A-List cast has been assembled to play The Losers' Club in the movie, as we'll see James McAvoy as Bill Denbrough, James Ransone as Eddie Kaspbrak, Jessica Chastain as Beverly Marsh, Bill Hader as Richie Tozier, Isaiah Mustafa as Mike Hanlon, and Jay Ryan as Ben Hanscom.

Pennywise is back to terrify the now grown-up Losers’ Club in in It Chapter Two (out Sept. 6), starring Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, and Bill Hader, among others. IT: Chapter Two will be holding a special "ScareDiego" event at Comic-Con and while we don't know whether that means a new trailer is on the horizon, it would be a smart move to release one!

I'm here for it, but these trailers aren't doing much for me.

Instead of horror, these movies just feel like more adult Stranger Things.

That Adrian Mellon scene has the potential to be scarier than the Georgie scene in the first..

Gonna be brutal.

Speaking of It... Jack Dylan Grazer from It/Shazam just joined the new HBO show from Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name, Suspira), so it's nice to see him break out - kid's incredibly talented

@regularmovieguy - Guadagnino did The Young Pope??! Guess I gotta put it on the list now. And nah, it's "a new drama series following two American teenagers and their military and civilian parents as they navigate friendship and first-love on an American military base in Italy."
