Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, humanity is on its last legs after Alice is betrayed by Wesker in Washington D.C. As the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead hordes, Alice must return to where the nightmare began – Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse. In a race against time Alice will join forces with old friends, and an unlikely ally, in an action packed battle with undead hordes and new mutant monsters. Between losing her superhuman abilities and Umbrella’s impending attack, this will be Alice’s most difficult adventure as she fights to save humanity, which is on the brink of oblivion.

Starring Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Iain Glen, Shawn Roberts, Ruby Rose, Eoin Macken, William Levy, Fraser James, and Rola, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is set to be released on January 27th, 2017.

Oh, so they have Claire Redfield in her Revelations 2 garb?

Never a good sign. That means the upcoming Resident Evil 2 remake will bomb.

Years after the first debacle of this hot steaming mess came out, I am still left to ponder just WHY someone in Hollywood thought that a movie that tuck closely to the original GAME would have been such a disaster?

Oh, because it has only one set piece? Really? Guess they never played the game then, because even though it is inside one house, there are several set pieces they could use and take advantage of.

Dunno how they'd make use of the puzzle solving element to the game as part of a plot vehicle, but I'm sure they could've pulled it off.

I personally would pay top dollar to see the RE franchise come to life on screen adapted directly from the games themselves.

Except 5 and 6 'cause those games sucked out loud.

RE1, RE2, RE3, RE4, RE:CV, and elements of Revelations (or RE0). I just gave them 6 movies' worth of material to use.

I'm okay with a LITTLE artistic licence taken, but to keep just a name and a couple characters (that are treated as disposable anyway) is not enough to call itself Resident Evil.

Adapt the games. Truly adapt them. People would actually watch it.

So I am confused.. Didn't Wesker give her powers back to her at the end of the last one? Now, this description says that he betrayed again and lost her powers again? WTF!!

I'm so glad this is the last movie.

If there was ever a movie franchise that needed to be rebooted, it is this one.

Cool...now reboot this bullshit.

The more I learn about the games the more I hate this movie franchaise. And I actually went to see resident evil 5 in the theater. Why did I do that to myself?!

Um, Wesker gave her those powers back at the end of the last film to help them level the field.

Don't care what people say I enjoy these movies as an alternate take on the RE Universe. Basically if everything went wrong after Racoon City.

Imagine you're in the theater, the trailers start up, you see images of zombies, laboratories, a tac-team running around a mansion (all between fast cuts), the screen goes black, and a voice says "I got a shotgun," 'gun cocks.' Shots of action pieces, dramatic music swells, and title: Resident Evil, oct, 2016.

I would scream with happiness. I'm not even a purist and I think that would rock.

Please get this over with. I have just been disappointed since 2002. I mean, how hard could it have been to have a faithful version of the game depicted on screen? And I do get it. And I do understand that at the time, comic book and video game properties were not taken seriously at all. I'm sure that if a reboot was ever done, it would have more emphasis on the horror and and some tension to it. It's just that even at the time, it still could have been a good horror/action flick.
