The first trailer for an intriguing-looking coming-of-age romantic horror called My Animal is now online.

Directed by Jacqueline Castel, the story focuses on Jonny (Bodies Bodies Bodies star Amandla Stenberg) who strikes up a relationship with a sheltered young woman named heather (newcomer Bobbi Salvör Menuez), who is dealing with some major issues.

In addition to her troubled home life and hidden desires, Heather just so happens to be a werewolf.

There was quite a bit of buzz for this one coming out of its Sundance premiere, and it's currently sitting at 82% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The official synopsis reads:

“Heather, an outcast teenage goalie, longs to play on the hockey team of her small town. She meets and falls in love with newcomer Jonny, an alluring but tormented figure skater. The relationship blossoms despite Heather’s struggles with her alcoholic mother, her hidden sexual orientation, and a familial curse that transforms her into a feral wolf under the full moon.

“Heather and Jonny’s secret tryst soon clashes against the conformity of their small community, exposing dangerous truths and igniting a passionate, violent night of personal transformation.”

My Animal is set to premiere in theaters on September 8 before arriving on Digital outlets on September 15. The film is rated “R” for: “Language throughout, sexual content, nudity, some drug use and violence.”

They better have some fair representation of minorities in this, or I'm going to complain on Twitter.

@Dingus - Hey bitch, I'm just happy it's 2 hot lesbo's playing the role. I still won't watch it, but that better than 2 dudes, or what would essentially be another night at your place.

@ClintThaHamster - I don't appreciate the way you're hitting on me. And who said I'm a dude? I don't remember you asking me what my gender pronouns are.

@Dingus - You're sad because I haven't been giving you any attention.

@DenvertheDino - "You reek of sadness" isn't usually my go-to pickup line. As for your gender, from my experience, most aggressively homophobic trolls are, in fact, dudes. Especially the ones that make insinuations about other's sexuality to try to get a rise out of them. Quintessential shitty dude behavior.
