Travel Deeper into Monsters: Dark Continent with this New Trailer

Seven years on from the events of Monsters, and the ‘Infected Zones’ have spread worldwide. Humans have been knocked off the top of the food chain, with disparate communities struggling for survival. American soldiers are being sent abroad to protect US interests from the Monsters, but the war is far from being won. Noah, a haunted soldier with several tours under his belt, is sent on a mission: an American soldier has gone rogue deep in the Infected Zone, and Noah must reach him and take him out. But when Noah's unit and transport are destroyed, he finds himself with only a young and inexperienced cadet for company - the brother of the man Noah has been sent to kill. The two soldiers must go on a life-altering journey through the dark heart of monster territory, accompanied by a young local woman to guide them. By the time the three of them reach their goal, they will have been forced to confront the fear that the true monsters on the planet may not be alien after all.

Looks disappointing. Wasn't the whole point of the first movie that the Monsters were just trying to go about their lives in peace. Pretty sure the first movie ended with the monsters going off to mate - cant see how they can do that and have them fighting the humans also.

looks pretty good but why call it monsters? nothing like the original; in fact it appears to completely reverse the tone, message and aesthetic. looks more like the next "world invasion" movie than a monsters movie.

@fettastic it's good but don't expect it to be like this. it's not a creature movie or an action movie at all... it's a sci fi setting but it's a straight up road trip/character drama kind of thing.

@scarilian yeah and this new location seems an odd choice when you consider the food source they established in the first one, too. but maybe i'm not remembering it too well.

Looks really solid, I love the first monsters (Where Scoot Mcnairy was the main character).

I hate how these films always focus on military characters, complete with predictably military banter that never ceases to come across as flat and dumb.

@IIAdamantiumIII i hope so. i'd hate to see the message of the original erased by another mindless yee-haw bullet-porn POS.

Eh, I don't know. The first Monsters wasn't an action flick and didn't really seem like the type of film that needed a sequel. But that may just be my opinion.

Crap movie that belongs on Lifetime. This one at least looks like it has action.
