Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter explores the secret life of our greatest President, and the untold story that shaped our nation. Visionary filmmakers Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov (director of Wanted) bring a fresh and visceral voice to the blood-thirsty lore of the vampire, imagining Lincoln as history’s greatest hunter of the undead.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter stars Benjamin Walker, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Rufus Sewell, Jimmi Simpson, Dominic Cooper, Anthony Mackie, and will be released on June 22, 2012.

I hope this film is at least as good as the book. Great book.

@ Nomis -

I haven't read it but I'm pretty sure it was prose.

It'd be hilarious if they followed this up with "MARTIN LUTHER KING JR.: Zombie Killer.

I read the book a few months ago. The book is ok, a bit slow in the beginning. But I can't wait to see the part in the book where Abe struggled with an old woman vampire on a flatboat.

Also the scene in a barn where lined up vamps eating slaves in a complete gore-fest.

Those scenes occurred in the book. The movie though, who knows

The book, by Seth Graham-Smith, is quite good. It's half biography and half inventive narrative. It has some crazy scenes in it which I hope they at least try to recreate in the movie. Does anyone know when a trailer debuts?

@llamaMan23

Hell no, Bush IS a vampire. Clinton is the hunter with Obama as his protege.

If Abe was so adept at detecting deadly danger, why didn't sniff out JWB?

@Nomis Ha! Great president; bad premise for a movie.

If corporate Hollywood wants to tap into obscure comics for inspiration, they should check out 'Vampirella'.

I've been buying this comic published by Dynamite ,and thus far not a SINGLE issue has disappointed!( the art is always awesome too BTW)

With all the latest vampire craze, you'd think a studio would wise up to this property!(hint-hint, nudge-nudge)

If them movie is half as good as the book it will be spectacular! I highly recommend the book. Its not a graphic novel though. I must say it is a easier read than some of the Eternals & Celestial books our there if your considering reading it and want to judge the over all heft of it. The book is in no means The Hobbit in length, content, or heft. Its a fairly easy read, but very well done. Its basically a Biography on Abraham Lincoln where the author enplanes the mysteries in his live away with Vampires.

BTW, the Assassination is covered in the book and is pretty close to what we know actually happened just with that vampire twist.
