Following the release of a lackluster prequel to the well received reboot (IE
Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning) and a controversial sequel to the original (
Texas Chainsaw), the franchise may be headed toward redemption...or possibly another dud.
Simply titled
Leatherface, a prequel to the original
Texas Chain Saw Massacre has been announced by Millennium Films (the studio behind last year's
Texas Chainsaw), with Beth Bruckner and Christine Crow overseeing the project. While plot details are being kept a secret, the film is rumoured to focus on Leatherface in his teenage years. The film will be written by Seth M. Sherwood, produced by Carl Mazzocone, and executive produced by Christa Campbell and Lati Grobman. The film has yet to find a director but could start production as early as winter. No release year has been announced.

As far as the "DC vs. Marvel" rivalry goes, I'm really not biased when it comes to studios and publishers. Preferences are fine, but I've never understood the basing of opinions purely by the studio/publisher that makes it.
