The plot for Saw VI sees Detective Hoffman as the successor to Jigsaw's legacy, and as you'd expect, once the FBI gets close to him, the gory games begin. The teaser trailer for this fall's mayhem is below. We can undoubtedly expect a full trailer in the coming weeks.

I hate these movies. I don't understand why they continue to be made. I'll grant you the first one was good, but the others are so formulaic that I can't understand their entertainment value. However I know with out a doubt I'll be dragged to it come October none the less.

I take SAW 1 is the best out the lot??

Ive seen both HOSTEL's their sick enough, best get SAW 1 some how and catch up lol.

i think its lame that movies that start making comic books make it onto the site; ie: jennifer's body. i guess this is a comic book movie site and all, but i always think movies that are being made from a comic book source material. but whatever, news is news i guess.

Oh I love you people, I thought I was the only one who hated these movies. These movies are the biggest piles of shit ever made. I watched the first one for the first time a few months ago, I thought I would like it but it bored me so much I switched it off half way through. The sequels are worse. I could have crapped out a better movie. They have gone the way of every horror movie franchise, make one movie that is popular with the public, then make an endless [frick]ing franchise until it is time for a reboot that completely sucks. I hate Hollywood

Saw 1 is the only one worth seeing... And even at that rate its only worth seeing once. The rest are just pointless sick torture and grossness fetish films. Really pointless to watch them. This franchise needs to be killed off. Society can be f*kin disgusting

@ Keven, what was wrong with the Friday the 13th? And by the way It was NOT a remake/reboot. It was another sequel. The 11th as a matter of fact. A reboot/remake would have started with redoing the first one, which this did not, it just had a very qwuick rundown of the story for you youngins who never saw it. C'mon dude, know what you are saying before saying it.

And for the record, I loved the first 2, the third and fourth were okay, but the fifth blew, that being said I do own all 5 of them...so make of it what you will, and say of me what you will, I am a fan of horror movies, all types, shapes & sizes.

WulfComicFan the new Friday the 13th was a reboot not a sequel. That is why he has the cack on his head and then gets the hocky mask from the attic. I didnt mind the Friday The 13th reboot. Not the best but nowhere near as bad as Jason X (the sleeping bag death was the only redeeming part of that movie). The Saw films are formulaic but then again so are nearly all horror movie sequals. There really made for cheap thrills, and its definately refreshing to see a new concept fleshed out for the first time, but Id rather see a horror film than just about every other genre... except comicbook movies of course ;).

@ thebat, no its NOT a remake, if you watch all the others, he loses the mask multiple times, this one just did a better job of not leaving things out there, it is considered friday the 13th part 12. If you pay attention during movie dialog, they talk about how like 30 years ago his mother killed a bunch of kids and he came back to avenge her because he saw her get killed. You need to pay attention to stuff before talking about it. Believe me I have looked into this. It IS a sequel.

Nowhere here does BRAD FULLER, who made the movie, say anything abut it being a reboot. Only the headline of the article says it. And every thing else INCULDING the movie itself points to this being the 11th sequel. Here are the quotes from Brad Fuller himself, from your own link...

“None of our remakes have been PG-13,” says producer Brad Fuller. “How do you remake a rated R horror movie and take the guts out literally and figuratively? What is F13 without sex, drugs and a really, really long sharp machete? And why would we, horror fans ourselves, produce a movie devoid of the things that made the title so appealing in the first place. So let me say for the record, that the F13 that we start shooting this Thursday is a full bodied, rated R film

“It has insane kills that will be shown in all their glory- it has a group of college students who drink and even have sex. Remake or sequel, that movie was a steaming pile of miserable shit.

Saw 1 i did enjoy, Saw 2..was watchable. The 3rd one was so bad i turned of off half way through..and i never do that!

@WulfcComicFan- It was a remake! Working titles are WORKING TITLES that they were considering when they weren't sure whether it would be a sequel or not. If you look on the FAQ on the IMDB page it says

s this a remake, a prequel, a sequel, a re-imagining, or a midquel to the first four "Friday the 13th" movies?

"Mentioned by the producers in this article, this film is best described as a 'reboot' of the Friday the 13th series, primarily focusing on the first three films. Jason Voorhees (Derek Mears) appears, he dons the hockey mask and burlap sack, and runs rampant around Crystal Lake. Pamela Voorhees (Nana Visitor) also appears. Since the sack, the hockey mask, and Pamela and Jason Voorhees were all staples introduced in different films of the first three movies, it is evident that this movie is a complete re-imagining of all three of them. Another bit of information that makes this film take place in a different continuity is because it was stated that it encompasses events from the first three films, but also takes place at Camp Crystal Lake. Also it's not a remake of the original with his mother, but a remake of 2-4 seeing as Jason is more marketable.

As far as far as Saw goes the first one was great, Saw 2 was pretty good and still somewhat original, Saw 3 was awful, Saw 4 was great, Saw 5 was awful.

It was formulaic(i realize thats a given with these movies) the acting was awful, the plot was non existent. Big dude kills horny, annoying teenagers..the end. Yes, thats the point, i get that. But did the movie have to be completely predictable and devoid of any tension too? Not one, jump, one chill, one surprise. It couldn't even manage to be particularly gruesome! What was the point of it? It just rehashes every tired slasher movie cliche again and again. If thats what you want from a horror movie well your welcome to it.

well he died at the end of the 3rd one but the 4th one does a great job of showing more about his past and why he is the way he is. 5 was simply awful.

the whole saw franchise reminds me of the seen from back to the future, Mcfly almost gets eaten by a 3d add for jaws 25 the final bite part 3. Except jaws finally quit I fear this one won't.

These movies do not all suck. It seems everyone has a different opinion on them. I happen to have a good feeling about this one after the train wreck the last few have been... even the game looks like it may be good for a few hours of enjoyment. And I heard they wanted to make 9 now... not just 7

The only reason to watch these movies is to see the different ways people are gutted and decimated. That is why I love them. That's the reason I watch any horror movie. Most of them are predictable, so the only reason to watch them is for death. I will keep seeing these as these keep coming out. I saw "Jason Goes to Hell" in the frickin' theater when it came out. nothing has disappointed me as much as that movie. These movies are many times better than that, and I'm very grateful for them. If it gets to the point of JGtH, then I will stop watching them, but nothing had disappointed me like that movie. Not even "Batman & Robin" made me as angry as JGtH.

I just miss the way horror films used to be when it was not all about the blood and guts... I remember watching Halloween 1 & 2 as a kid every year and now I don't have a horror film I can never get tired of...
