I was lucky enough to meet and interview Evil Dead director Fede Alvarez earlier this year (find it HERE if you missed it) and it was clear then just how passionate he was about continuing the franchise. Hell, he actually did the impossible and made a remake that was good! In the following video interview with IGN Movies at this weekend's San Diego Comic-Con, Alvarez and star Jane Levy talk in great detail about working on the film together and promise that talks are currently ongoing about a sequel. As he's said numerous times in the past, the director expresses his desire to bring the classic films and the new franchise together. Would you guys like to see a follow-up?

In the much anticipated remake of the 1981 cult-hit horror film, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.

STARRING:

Jane Levy as Mia
Shiloh Fernandez as David
Jessica Lucas as Olivia
Lou Taylor Pucci as Eric
Elizabeth Blackmore as Natalie

i would not like a sequel, to be fair im not a mass fan of the originals but i thought this remake was absolutely shocking, i hated the characters, the acting was terrible, it was so predictable all the way through, it had so much potential, but il be happy if i never have to watch it again

Jane Levy sure is a cutie. I thought Evil Dead was good. More violent than scary, though.

Was the original evil dead all that scary? Not really, but it was fun as hell and so was this remake, you can tell Fede really tried. And with that after credits scene, itll ensure alot of people who didnt like this one will at least check out the sequel.

well PLENTY of others liked it, so I think they'll value the opinions of the majority than the tiny bit of unsatisfied fans who are never happy

I thought the idea was to make a series of movies like raimi's original(besides army of darkness) but with levi. Then both story lines would combine and have a movie with both levi and ash in the end.
