Second Trailer For Joss Whedon & Drew Goddard's THE CABIN IN THE WOODS

Have a look at the new trailer for Drew Goddard's horror flick which was written by Joss Whedon, and stars Thor himself Chris Hemsworth. This is actually shorter trailer, but is more plot heavy so SPOILER warning..

The new Cabin In The Woods trailer is a good deal shorter than the first and is really more of a teaser. It contains quite a few of the same shots as the last one, but there are a few new spoilerific ones so if you don't want to know too much about the twists and turns of this mysterious new horror movie, might be best to give it a miss..

The Cabin in the Woods is scheduled for release in US theaters April 13th, 2012. And there are prequel comic book adaptations in the pipeline too.

Had he just brought Mjolnir to the cabin with him, none of this would be happening right now...

The movie hits theaters the very same day The Avengers does, here in France. I plan on seeing both on opening day and get my Whedon fix ^^

@Gusto Yep! I am proud natural born stinky cheese lover! And as for Teabag, if you're talking about the famous CBM user, then no, I don't know him personnaly. And if you're refering to that other thing that is known as "teabag"... well we French practically invented that =P

@Nolanite Well the distributors of the film might think so. But frankly he has a niche fan club. He's no Nolan in terms of popularity if you will ^^ I mean the guy just picked our national sweetheart two times in a row (I'm talking about Marion Cotillard). For myself I am a Whedon and a Nolan fan, and a comic book fan on top of all that. So yeah for me!

This movie looks bad. They are throwing every cliche against the wall hoping something will stick.

Let Joss suprise you SKAPEGOAT. His whole career has been subverting genre stereotypes and cliches. Especially horror ones. That's where the idea for Buffy came from, he got tired of the blonde girl getting killed in the alley by the monster so he made her take the monster down instead. I've heard great things about this; my guess is that if you see a cliche or stereotype in this film, it's because joss wants you to see it and is about to turn it on its head.
I can't freaking wait for this, Joss is the master of genre-bending fun; he was a first to blend horror and comedy so well. He stuck sci fi and westerns together in firefly. He gave Fox the bird. If you're not a Whedonite, check out the Buffy episodes 'Hush''The Body' and 'Once More With Feeling' and 'Becoming Part 2'. A silent movie style episode (brilliant, insanely creepy), an episode with no music at all, and a musical episode. And one with an awesome freakin sword fight. Hush should convince you Joss can do horror in ways nobody has seen before. Whedon Worship Done. (for now....)

Love the cast for this too, hemsworth owns all, the redhead is hot as hell, the blonde was one of three main characters on the second series of an Aussie show called Underbelly, and she was MAGNIFICENT, very memorable, if only for the constant nude scenes. The nerdy guy was on Joss' show Dollhouse and was very funny in it. And the two lab coats under the cabin are great actors too. Plus I read on IMDB that Amy Acker (of Angel fame) and Tom Lenk (one of the 'nerd trio' on Buffy, Andrew) have roles. Which reminds me, if you like Big Bang Theory, watch the buffy ep 'Life Serial'. Kind of a goofy episode, but extremely funny, has three nerds trying to be super villains, in their black ops servailance van which they paint the death star on and install a star wars themed horn tune. These guys are classic, had to have inspired Big Bang!
