Second Trailer For TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D

Lionsgate has released a second trailer - well, actually more a teaser since it's only a minute long - for the upcoming horror flick which features quite a bit of new footage. See Leatherface and his noisy weapon of choice in action after the jump..

In theaters January 4, 2013, the movie is being directed by John Luessenhop from a screenplay by Adam Marcus, Debra Sullivan and Kirsten Elms. Dan Yeager, John Dugan, Bill Moseley, Alexandra Daddario, Sue Rock, Tania Raymonde, Scott Eastwood, Gunnar Hansen, Tobe Hooper, Paul Rae, Keram Malicki-Sánchez, Ritchie Montgomery, Trey Songz, Marilyn Burns, Shaun Sipos, Thom Barry and Richard Riehle star.

Lionsgate's TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D continues the legendary story of the homicidal Sawyer family, picking up where Tobe Hooper's 1974 horror classic left off in Newt, Texas, where for decades people went missing without a trace. The townspeople long suspected the Sawyer family, owners of a local barbeque pit, were somehow responsible. Their suspicions were finally confirmed one hot summer day when a young woman escaped the Sawyer house following the brutal murders of her four friends. Word around the small town quickly spread, and a vigilante mob of enraged locals surrounded the Sawyer stronghold, burning it to the ground and killing every last member of the family--or so they thought. Decades later and hundreds of miles away from the original massacre, a young woman named Heather learns that she has inherited a Texas estate from a grandmother she never knew she had. After embarking on a road trip with friends to uncover her roots, she finds she is the sole owner of a lavish, isolated Victorian mansion. But her newfound wealth comes at a price as she stumbles upon a horror that awaits her in the mansion's dank cellars...

@Dionysios

"the shitty beil remake had a more believable 70's aesthetic than this one..."

WOW! the comparison alone speaks volumes - and not in a good way. I saw the Beil version and have been avoiding this one like the plague...I wouldn't mind watching Trey Sonz die though...even if its just in the movies...a ninja can dream

I guess I just grew less enthralled by TCM-verse once I became old enough for a licence to carry.

"RENG RENG" goes the chainsaw
"BANG BANG" goes the hand-cannon
"HA HA" goes the would-be victim

Less is more, just let the title sell the movie, cuz that first trailer was atrocious.

Evil Dead on the other hand looks SICK!

I loved the Bay produced films and thought it was scary and relentless. Pretty sure this will suck hardcore.

......Doesn't mean I'm not gonna watch it though!

OK, so I met a guy on facebook in a round-about way who told me more about the script....he also has some really cool production pics that we haven't seen yet, and he mentioned he was an extra on the set in Louisiana and the pics I saw were pretty awesome---the house was rebuilt to the detail, and I saw a pic of Drayton Sawyer standing in the doorway with a shotgun, and one of leatherface peeking through the door as well....the tidbits he told me (after I posted my comments on here about the plot holes) confirmed what many of us already thought: that leatherface would be too old to be running around and that we're getting a relative that is picking up his role, so to speak...so we're getting a distant relative of leatherface who is just carrying on his cousin's tradition and keeping the family name going....supposedly all the original Sawyers were killed when their house was surrounded and leatherface did put up one good last fight before he was killed by a mob of townspeople...so everyone thought the terror was over until granny died and passed on her house, but the will stated that her grandson (the cousin of leatherface) be given nothing and he gets angry and goes crazy and disappears, until present day when the young distant relative Heather arrives with her friends to inherit the house and that's when the current leatherface comes back to kill them and get rid of them and he puts on his cousin's mask collection and begins the new reign of terror as leatherface and kills everyone but his cousin Heather, who escapes and the current leatherface gets killed---the ending is clear that there is no room for sequels after this one
