SPIRAL: FROM THE BOOK OF SAW - Check Out The Horror Revival's Gruesome Opening Scene

With Spiral: From The Book of Saw set to release in just a couple of days, Lionsgate has shared the gruesome opening scene online.

In the horror revival, Chris Rock plays a detective who is targeted by what appears to be a Jigsaw copycat killer (firstly establishing Spirall as a follow-up to the original franchise), and is forced to play a new "game" which involves his father (Samuel L. Jackson) and, seemingly, most of the cops in his precinct.

Rock doesn't appear in this sequence, but we do see an unfortunate detective captured by a Jigsaw copycat in a pig mask, who forces him to participate in one of the twisted games the franchise has become known for. Will he choose to render himself tongue-less in order to escape with his life? Check out the clip below to find out.

A sadistic mastermind unleashes a twisted form of justice in SPIRAL, the terrifying new chapter from the book of SAW. Working in the shadow of an esteemed police veteran (Samuel L. Jackson), brash Detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks (Chris Rock) and his rookie partner (Max Minghella) take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer’s morbid game.

Spiral: From The Book of Saw is set to slice its way into theaters on May 14. Do you plan on checking it out?

I'm gonna try to go to a theater to watch, as long as I don't hear anything overly bad, but even then I might try.

I just bought the 4K steelbook from Best buy and it might be one of my favs

Kinda disappointed no Tobin bell voice (it's established they can replicate it with a voice changer so it's not like that means jigsaw is back). But otherwise pretty cool.

@MosquitoFarmer - I'm not saying Tobin bell isn't in the movie. I'm saying the killers aren't using the voice in their traps.

Gotta say, I do love me some Saw. They had several good movies, and several just bad ones. But I'm with it, and I'm eager for Spiral, because it seems to be on the better end of the spectrum.

Not really feeling the voice on the tv, it’s not creepy or intimidating, other than that I’m sure this will be a fun gory ride. 👍
