SUPERNATURAL Gets a New Showrunner

SUPERNATURAL Gets a New Showrunner

The hit CW paranormal series hasn't been renewed for an eigth season just yet, but this change is a promising step forward. Supernatural adds a producer from Being Human

Things are being shaken up over at CW's veteran series Supernatural. Sera Gamble, who has been a part of the hit series since it first aired has opted to not renew her contract and will be stepping down after the current season comes to an end and Deadline reports that Jeremy Carver will be taking over as co-showrunner. Gamble has served as executive producer alongside Robert Singer for the past two seasons. The duo took over the show after Eric Kripke stepped down after the 5th season, when his "story" was completed.

Carver, who has previously worked on the show has been working on SyFy's series Being Human with his wife Anna Fricke. The team wrote the

series which is based on the British series of the same name. The CW has yet to make a formal announcement that the seires has been renewed for an eighth season, but being that they have made this move, I'd suspect that the announcement is imminent.

Supernatural follows the Winchester brothers (Jensen Ackles & Jared Padalecki) as the rid the world of the demons, monsters and ghosts that we only thought were stories. Along the way, they must deal with elements and characters of biblical proportions. All set to a back drop of killer classic rock.

This worries me a bit, to be honest. I'm a huge fan of the series, but ever since the "demon/angel" storyline  came to a close after season five, the show seems to be going in an endless circle of nonsense. While the show is still entertaining, it is missing the elements that made the series so fun in the beginning. The humor and wittiness of the characters is almost non-existent and I miss the days of just hunting. I just hope the show doesn't delve into the realm of Smallville and just renew for the sake of renewing.

They should have ended it after season 5. Just add the first 5 minutes of season 6 with the Dean Winchester montage to "Beautiful Loser" to the last episode of season 5 and we have a perfect ending.

I still like this series. There have been episodes, like the few centered around Bobby's death, that were on par with the very best of this series. Just because it's still around and not new anymore doesn't mean that it's a bad show. Compared to everything else, it's head & shoulders above 95% of all other shows.

The show peeked with Season 5. I think it still has a chance to get back up there. This season has certainly been getting better as the episodes go on.

I have hopes that the next season will be a step up, especially with this news. The US version of Being Human really surprised me with how good it's been and how well they separated it from the original.

6 WAS A LET DOWN BUT 7 IS BACK ON TRACK WITH THE HUNTING ETC. THE SHOW SHOULD NEVER END

I would like to see the series end after season 8. The show did become a little silly for a bit there, with the whole, "souless Sam" thing. I say an eighth season, because the producers have already announced a cliffhanger ending for season 7. Season 8 should kill the Leviathans, and have one final confrontation with Crowley. Resolve with Castiel, and reveal what happened to God.
The end of season 5 would have been great. Absolutely perfect. A tragedy, but absolutely perfect. It is hard for me to admit that SPOILER ALERT, I would have been fine with one of the main characters sitting in Hell for eternity with Lucifer and Michael.

I'd like them never to find out what happened to God. I actually like the show better being God cares but he doesn't really care. He's there but he's not there. If he shows up, he should just slap them both, tell them shut up and vanish.

I love this show...

Although now they are being haunted by Bobbys ghost. Seems Being Human influence already...

I would like to see them find more strong slayers... oops.. I mean hunters with strong personalities to add to the mix. They seem to kill off all the female ones quickly. Keeping the jealous girl fans sedated, or the gay guy fans happy? haha

Every season of this show has been consistent in my opinion. 6 & 7 showed that they could put a new spin on things. I loved the direction this season has taken. I at least want two more seasons of this amazing show.

I don't really see this as a bad thing. The US version of BEING HUMAN is leaps & bounds better than it's British counterpart, i do however enjoy both.

I have been enjoying SUPERNATURAL very much as of late. The return of CASTIEL only bodes well for the future.

Im with DBZMaster789, bring that back in season 8, im gettin a little concerned with how its going, sam cracks up, dean cant trust him, kiss and make up over a beer looking over a lake at sunset. Im hoping it goes back to how seasons 1-3 where with some edgy scenes and a little more creepiness
